Odds and Sods - Game 1 - Ottawa RedBlacks vs 2 time defending Champion Blue Bombers
Harris was better at picking up the blitz, and we are gonna miss Adams' blocking ability unless someone else steps up. Too bad about Saunders would've been nice to retain Adams, was one of my fav players. C'est la vie.

Odds and Sods - Game 1 - Ottawa RedBlacks vs 2 time defending Champion Blue Bombers
To be fair RE: the run game, OTT D looked pretty good out there stuffing them, always hard to tell this early on if it was our O being underhlwhelming, or a stout D from the RedBlacks...

Can't count to 12? These idiots can't count to 3!

Glad to see other offenses struggling out of the gate too. Hope things will gel for us as things progress...

3 stars plus hh red black and blue
I think we are gonna miss Harris more than I initially thought.

Just stopped by to thank LaPo for the most atrocious clock management at the end of the first half.

Prukop deserves a shoutout for making good on all his sneak attempts and making something out of nothing on his botched FG snap lol

Week 1: Back-to-back losers thread
Actually, it's math. Which is why their fanbase doesn't understand it lol.

Week 1: Back-to-back losers thread
Fun fact: The Bombers have been back-to-back Grey Cup Champions 3 times in their history (1958-1959, 1961-1962, 2019-2021) in the history. The Riders have never been back-to-back Grey Cup Champions.

Week One Ottawa Vs Winnipeg
How's this for weird trivia? The last time the Redblacks scored a touchdown at IGF was Aug 17, 2018. The two top recievers for each team in that game (WPG - Adams, OTT - Ellingson) now play for the opposite team.

League cuts we should take a look at
Sometimes with cuts like that I wonder if it is maybe an attitude problem
-
League cuts we should take a look at
Their initial report listing cuts to the CFL got rejected because they tried to cut those pesky goalposts lol

League cuts we should take a look at
Tbh i think releasing the cuts earlier (like the bombers did) is the nice thing to do for the players. It is kind of similar to when teams have to release players so they could tryout in the NFL. Obviously noone wants to be cut, but waiting till the last moment possible is kind of a jerk move, even if teams are entitled to do so. I think players notice when organizations screw them around like that.

League cuts we should take a look at
This is just a guess but I would think it has to do with when each team's respective season opener is? Either way, I agree it is odd that some guys get left in the lurch longer depending on the team they're trying out for.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers TC 2022
One of the biggest things we'll miss from Adams' departure was his blocking ability.

In the Ray trade, EDM got Jyles, Grant Shaw and a draft pick that turnes into Austin Pasztor. Jyles finished out that year (2012) with Edm and was later cut. Shaw kicked for EDM from 2012 to 2016. Pasztor never played on CFL, he made it to the NFL. TOR won 2 Grey Cups with Ray at the helm, including the year the season after the trade occurred. During Ray's stint in TO tho, he was injured lots Tldr; EDM traded Ray to TO for a placekicker and 1/2 year of Steven Jyles. Shaw's unverified FG % (career) was about 80%.

Hey now, Drew Willy was instrumental too... Think of all the players we were able to afford when we fleeced TO in that trade and dumped his salary.

I love Streveler, but in 2019 when Nichols was out before we acquire Collaros, Strevs would sometimes throw some absolutely backbreaking picks. Not sure he could be a bonafide starter, his inability to pass was exposed in the latter half of 2019.

Good. Let the facade continue. They're going nowhere with him.

What's worse than being in Regina? Being in Regina on a Tuesday.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers TC 2022
Re: Saunders' culpability is irrelevant. Being associated with a player accused of domestic violence when part of league branding is standing up against it is hypocritical. I have no problem with his release. Part of being a football player is being in the public eye, rightly or wrongly, they are often held to a higher standard than the rest of us.
