"Get on your feet, Bomber fans"
Personally I despise the "first down" chant. I find it very stupid, when our team is on offense, a polite applause on achieving a first down is appropriate. The forced announcement amps up the crowd exactly when they don't need to be loud. When we're on offense - our crowd is supposed to be quiet. Nothing is more frustrating than hearing fans celebrating/going crazy whilst our offensive linemen are giving the universal "shut up we're trying to call plays" signal.

3 stars + HH red black and blues
Agree with your 3 stars. HH - For me, the fans on the away side for being absolute menaces to the Redblacks. Their players were too busy mouthing off to the Blue faithful to realize they were getting their butts handed to them by the Bombers.

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
Well, they'll likely play it pretty close to the chest, we'll probably know if Tate is playing if he travels with the team to Winnipeg. For others that are curious, heading into the game today, their depth chart at QB was: 1. Drew Tate 2. Ryan Lindley 3. Danny Collins The obvious guess would be Lindley if Tate can't go. I doubt they'd airlift in someone if Tate's injury is only temporary (day-to-day), especially on a short week.

Jennings in typical mid-season form.

Edmonton on a 5-game skid now, yikes.

Blue Bomber Pano shot
I'm just saying, if it was me, I would've done it before the 50/50 draw, or between the 3rd/4th quarter. More people would've been in their seats then. Probably some contracting reason with TSN or something why they couldn't do that though.

Bomber Bye Week: The Kavis Reed Short Rope Edition
Yep, Stephen Jyles, kicker Grant Shaw and a 2012 first round draft pick. Edmonton then traded that first rounder (which was 2nd overall, ended up being Jabar Westerman) to B.C. for the 14th pick (which became Justin Capiccoti) and the 38th pick (which became Ryan King). Toronto was later charged with blackmail and extortion.

Is it time for Davis...
It's the Riders we're talking about here, I don't think that's ever the case. As for Hamilton, they still have 2 games against Montreal, so they could win the season series there. They also still play Toronto and Ottawa once more each and right now the Ottawa/Hamilton series is split 1-1. The wheels haven't come off for them just yet, but they'd certainly need to start stringing some wins together. Does anyone know how many years are left on Collaros' contract? I agree trading him away if he's gone in December, but I'd be hanging on to him otherwise. I've seen too many Bomber seasons go down the drain because we had a backup that had a pulse and nothing else.

Is it time for Davis...
I think people are forgetting that Hamilton is still in the playoff race by virtue of the weak Eastern division. Right now, they're 4 points out of second place with a game in hand on their entire division. Not saying I think they'll turn it around - just that their coaching staff probably shouldn't write off this year just yet. If Hamilton traded away Collaros and Masoli goes down, who do they turn to? Their current 3rd stringer is Everett Golson.

Bringing the Riders back to earth and their fans back to reality ...
Suddenly the self-proclaimed loudest fans in the CFL (which scientifically has been proven false) are nowhere to be found.

Loudest Fans
To be perfectly honest, I'm surprised Saskatchewan knows what decibels are, and how to track them.
-
Loudest Fans
Y'know what I'd say to the Rider fans that say this game was closer (causing higher decibels)? This is your inaugural season at Mosaic, Winnipeg's 2013 season stunk all sorts of ugly, but that home opener against Montreal was loud.

3 stars + HH banjo beatdown
1. Leggett. Has to be. 2. Nichols, another huge game, minus his fumble. 3. I'm gonna go with Darvin Adams - although the entire receiving group stepped up big, he had some huge early catches to extend drives. HH to the fans at the game that had a giant sign that said FAKERS and all the fans that had red cards at the game. Bombers showing the Riders what they are, fans calling them out on it - FAKERS.

New DB arriving?
Roc Carmichael couldn't find Where's Waldo in an elevator, let alone any receivers. That guy was always getting burnt.

Smoke 'n' Mirrors
First off, nobody ever deserves this punishment. Ever. Secondly, I understand your gripe with the our defensive struggles; but I would argue our league is just having an abundantly offensive year, I've summarized the points per game, by team, below: Team Points per game Calgary (8-1-1) 18.70 Ottawa (4-6-1) 25.00 Saskatchewan (5-4) 25.22 Toronto (4-7) 25.27 Montreal (3-7) 26.30 League average 27.19 B.C. (5-5) 27.40 Edmonton (7-3) 29.50 Winnipeg (7-3) 31.60 Hamilton (1-8) 36.89 (source: http://www.oddsshark.com/cfl/defensive-stats) So, based on this - Winnipeg, on average, gives up 1 field goal more than the league average. It's also interesting that 3 of the "better" teams in the west (us, B.C. and Edmonton) all give up more points per game than the league average, yet have some of the better records in the league. Not sure if its valid, but it'd be interesting to see the points per game of the eastern teams versus western opponents, since I'm fairly certain that some of the low-scoring east-east affairs have caused their numbers to be artificially low (such as the Als 21-9 win over the Argos).

What to do about the D?
They could score 40 points off of rouges for all I care, long as they find a way to win. Offense isn't the problem here... (yet), I think as a team though this problem only gets compounded as the season goes on (and gets colder). Our current team reminds me of Hamilton's 2011 team, high-flying offense, scored tons of points, got scored on tons. The problem though is when you play in November, especially outdoors, that fancy offense doesn't run as hot, and that's when our D really needs to step up.

Unbiased Commentary
I would argue his reaction was in respect to the massive defensive breakdown by the Esks that game. They could have given up anything else defensively and the Esks win that game.

Geoff Gray Cut By Pack
As long as he has a pulse I don't see why not! He could also play RB on the offensive side of the ball... why not let him kick too? I heard linemen had to be good with their feet and have good footwork.
