Who has him ranked at 2nd?

Laine will be wearing Jets colors next season as will Connor. Laine had a strong game against a physical Canadian team. Perry is Perry. A pissed off fading star that didn't go far in the playoffs again. The Jets' upcoming talent is quite remarkable and it will be interesting to see what Maurice does with his lines but I would like to see Chevy trade some bodies for a young LHD with at least a 2nd pairing future. I'm not sure what it would take but we could use the help. Burmi, Tanev, Staf and Harkins for ????

It doesn't matter which player they take at 2nd, it will create one hell of a competition for the bottom six. You've got to figure that ESW with Little, and Perreault and/or Staf and/or Laine? fill out the top six. That leaves a LOT of players vying for the bottom 6 and a press box seat. For sake of argument, let's say that seat is taken by Thorbs. This leaves one of Laine?, Staf or Perreault making the bottom six so that leaves 5 spots. Who makes it? Lowry, Copp, Armia, Connor and Dano would be my guesses.

Difference of opinions...not first, not last. All I am saying is if the Jets offered him an assistant's position and he isn't coaching his son, I think he would accept the offer. I am sure there is a clause in his current contract that would address this issue. His wife is from Gimli and he has said numerous times that he loved living here and grew from a teenager to a man here and some of his best memories are from here.

I think his youngest kid is 18 and I'm not sure if he is still coaching him this upcoming season. As soon as he isn't coaching him, he will be open to offers and Winnipeg would definitely be his first choice. sidenote: Only NHL player to reach 1000 career NHL games before age 31.

fixed it for you......he does not belong in the league....he is a good 8th D man but way overpaid....I've been saying this all year....it is very apparent and I really don't care how good he is in the room....move him to mentor the Moose and maybe one day coach them.

I would be ecstatic if a team moved to Vegas and there was no expansion draft... Easier on the new owners too.

Trouba started as a rook but was what his impact? Laine will have an impact on the game.

Laine will not play in Europe next year and Connor will not be in the A...

Laine will have an immediate impact with the Jets unlike Ehlers, Scheif, Lowry, Trouba, etc... in the near future he is going to be making mega-bucks as a superstar playing for the Winnipeg Jets alongside some other stars like Scheif, Ehlers, Connor, Trouba, Helle and who knows who else. There will still be a good LHD and probably a pretty C prospect around the 12th pick or so. I would love to see Chevy trade up to snag a good C or LHD prospect with Chicago's pick and whatever else.

It isn't a hate it is an abundance of quality right hand shooting defenseman and if he has no movement claws he needs to be moved before it kicks in it is also a chance of getting a quality number one Center

If Myers has an NMC and we have to protect him in an expansion draft, I would trade him for the 4th overall and pick PLD. If Deadmonton wanted more, I wouldn't offer much more than Postma. I might offer Glover or Poolman. PLD would look great in this lineup in 2-3 years.

Staf can take his 20 goals and his 4.3m per and his disappearing for 10 games at a time act and.....disappear. Take Stu with him. Wheeler is undisputed 1RW and I would much rather see Laine and Armia and Dano getting time on the right wing than Staf. Even if he plays 3rd line time, that means two young players get less time. Stu I am just sick of complaining about and anyone that says he has a place on the Jets needs glasses.

I'd be shocked to see either Connor or Laine start anywhere but with the Jets this fall.

Shortsightedness like that will keep you a mediocre team......we need to develop the young players and having Staf on our team hinders that...period. Is Joe Army going to get you 20 goals this year??? probably not but I highly doubt Staf does too. RWers? How about Ehlers, Wheeler, Armia and Dano not to mention Roslovic (don't think he will play C with the team).
