Why dress a player strictly for holding duties, though? That doesn't seem prudent.- Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)

Since when do two examples count as "many"...? Loffler was certainly the exception but that's it. Fogg started well but struggled on defense as the season went on. So, make that one legitimate example. Try again, Mr. Peanut. You're way out to lunch here. Maybe read johnzo's post above you... Perhaps you'll get it. Starters typically aren't made overnight, BTW.- Commissioner gets it right

Seems a tad drastic but if it helps to mitigate or outright eliminate horseturd fishing expeditions (yeah, I'm looking at you, Dickenson), I'm all for it. However, this does absolutely nothing to improve what's actually wrong: consistently sketchy and incompetent officiating.- Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
Specifically when he disappears in games, which is more often than not.- I Hate Prevent Defenses
You clearly don't understand the concept of rookie players. A single TC and pre-season won't magically get a rookie player up to snuff, regardless of the coach or the team. These players need to ease into their roles over time, and getting thrust into them due to injuries will show their inexperience. Your logic, or lack thereof, is simply astounding.- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
He and Wiecek will talk about how it wasn't convincing enough of a win and they won despite the head coach. Just a couple of stale old plugs.- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
Of course any team can fluke a championship. Remember 2001? Again: it's how you finish, not how you start. Meanwhile, a team like the Stampeders consistently dominate the regular season but consistently fall short in the post-season. Nothing is guaranteed in the CFL.- Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
I take it you've only watched his one great game this season, then. His other four games ranged from good (week 2, 3) to garbage (week 1, 5). That's his track record in the CFL: string together a good game or two and then disappear for a bunch. That's basically quitting on the field personified.- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
Uh, they're still defending champions. Been a long, long time since the Bombers could say that. And seriously, would anyone be upset with a GC win followed up with a mediocre start to the following season? We all know it's not how you start but how you finish. Just ask the defending champions.- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?

You make an interesting point. He was basically a rotational player at best, dressing for 24 games with four teams in as many seasons. That's gotta be tough on a player's confidence and patience, IMO. Makes you wonder what he could've been, anyway. 6'5" and pushing close 300lbs. is a pretty good frame for a DT in the CFL.- Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
He retired in mid-August last year after attending NY Jets TC and just leaving. His family settled in Ottawa when they immigrated here and that's basically his Canadian hometown. IIRC, though, the Bombers still hold his CFL rights. Here's a good read as to why he chose to hang up the cleats: http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/why-nfl-player-christo-bilukidi-left-the-big-show-to-come-home-to-ottawa- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
Fair enough. This week's game will be a tough one and the week after in Hamilton has trap game written all over it. I just see the game vs. the Eskimos as being a better indicator of where this team is, though. Gotta be able to compete with the best before knowing where you stand, IMO. Obviously, if they can win the next two, I'll feel better about their chances when they host the division leader.- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
What makes you say that? Why does it have to be this particular upcoming game?- Favourite pizza place
Man, I totally forgot about Gondola. The Classic Combo is damn good.- Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
It's gotta be related to the SMS. Seems like the most logical conclusion. It suck but it is what it is. I can't imagine he suits up this week... Right?- Favourite pizza place
Santa Lucia takes it for me. I'm also big on The Pizza Oven, Dals, and Spanky's (we have our NHL fantasy drafts there).- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
They've given every opponent they've faced so far a run for their money, IMO. They're a good team but prone to costly mistakes at inopportune times. This should be a stiff test for the Bombers on Friday.- Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
Getting pressure on him early is going to be crucial, being on the road and all. Another hot start like Thursday night (getting an early turnover, for example) would be huge. Fingers crossed Leggett and Johnson are back, too. That'll help the secondary immensely.- Game day thread: Montreal here
Spoken like someone who has no clue. Nothing says classy like taking digs at an entire city, but you claim you're an objective and unbiased altruist... LOL SPuDS hit the nail on the head: get over yourself.- IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Then why didn't the Command Center reverse the call? Oh, yeah... Because the evidence was not conclusive. And to suggest the officials have been "very friendly" towards the Bombers is patently false. Like every other team in the league, they've had chintzy calls and weird calls go for and against them. The officiating has been horrible in pretty much every single game. - Sick Bay
