The Manny Show - Loffler was a hit
i disagree with you on this point as the effect of head injuries is now well known whereas back in the days before concussions (a.k.a B.C.) player safety took a back seat to male bravado. i am all for a good sack, open field tackle or bone jarring hit when the player sees it coming but Manny had no chance on that play to protect himself and Lofler ought to know better than to hit him up high like that even though he led with the shoulder. the game was on the line and that hit added fuel to the Lions fire. if that would have been one of the Bombers receivers we would all want and expect a penalty to be called. Times have changes. if we want to see football we either accept that those kind of hits are penalties or talented athletes will choose other sports where they aren't as susceptible to brain injuries.

Andrew Harris Snubbed, Dressler Not!
I guess I missed them and it may not matter to you but it was on my mind. I hope Harris feels the same way you do. it didn't look like it on Friday night.

Andrew Harris Snubbed, Dressler Not!
I think Andrew Harris is a true team player and one of the most intense players I've seen play the game and I think the Bombers should have given him a chance to hit the 1000 yard mark. I don't think he will sulk over it but it must leave him questioning what is going on when they put Dressler back into the game to hit the 1,000 yard receiving mark. I was going to let this go but I want others to chime in on whether or not O'Shea made a mistake. If he was concerned about players health going into the playoff game. he should have treated Harris and Dressler equally. I think Harris can have a greater impact on the team over the next few years than Dressler. he is a ratio breaker, threat in and out of the backfield and wants to win. I am not saying Dressler is not a good player but he is not a ratio breaker and seems to be injury prone with his best years perhaps behind him. Thoughts??

GDT: Winnipeg @ Ottawa
Nice to see the Blue get the win when it didn't really matter and against The RB's 3rd string team. I'm at a loss as to why they basically benched Harris unless he was banged up? I'm also confused as to why he was in for the final play of the game??

GDT: REDBLACKS (!!!) @ Bombers
Thanks for the clarification on int no.1. It adds more fuel to the fire that he should have been taken out fora few series or a full quarter.

GDT: REDBLACKS (!!!) @ Bombers
On the first failed 3rd and 1 i blame Jesse briggs for not getting down. he allowed himself and/or the defensive player made a good play and forced him to stand upright, which cost him valuable inches. i also think the first INT was on Denmark who seemed to run the wrong route. Time to throw this game away and look ahead to Friday!

Silver lining.
I agree the game was within until Ottawa scored its second two point conversion of the game. In my mind that was down right embarrassing and something that should only happen in video games. I'll acknowledge that they tried for two because their place kicker was injured but the Blue defence was like Swiss cheese and Nicols was having a bad day. the humane thing to do was give him a rest fora few series or let Glenn play the 4th quarter as the game was out of reach by then. I'll chalk this up to a bad game all teams lay stinkers once in a while. this team has proven resilient and capable of capitalizing on other teams mistakes to win games. They couldn't do it on Saturday but they still have at least 2 more games to prove they can!

Silver lining.
You have to admit it was a pathetic performance for a game that had such important playoff implications for the Bombers. The season is not over and it was only one game but it highlighted all the weaknesses with this team.

GDT: REDBLACKS (!!!) @ Bombers
I agree that while Mos is partially responsible for this debacle specifically not pulling Nicols at all but the players failed to execute and that is in them whereas Ottawa came to play. However, they have played in big games before this edition of the Bombers has not. Let's see what happens next week and in the playoffs before giving Mos his walking papers.

Silver lining.
This game proved that either the Bombers are a one and done playoff team or that they were not prepared to play after a bye week. I hope it is the latter but will withhold judgment until next week. I am also in the Nicols should have been pulled camp it was obvious he wasn't going to work his way out of the funk he was in and he should have either been pulled for good after the third int or pulled for a few series after the second one to get his act together. Any one know why Flanders was out? Ratio or injury?

Drew Willy
His mind, spirit and body were crushed playing behind the bombers oline that was truly offensive when he was a starter. I feel for him because the Bombers were negligent in their treatment of him. They set him up for failure and likely ruined his career. They should have had a mobile qb behind that oline not a pocket passer.

Medlock the Mising Link
The MEDSIAH!! great nickname for him and he should get votes for MOP no doubt about it.

Can we beat calgary?
I want to believe they can beat Calgary but they are the class of the league and the Bombers, while on a remarkable win streak, are bound for a let down game where the breaks don't go their way. Nicolls has been solid and a key cog to their success but he has had a couple balls dropped that could have been critical turnovers and a couple of penalties that erased turnovers. I don't want to dwell on 'colda, shoulda and wouldas' but even Walby said the Bombers have had luck on their side during this streak. This doesn't diminish the streak but things are never as good or as bad as they look and their is a fine line between winning specifically in football where 3 or 4 plays can change the outcome of the game. So can the Blue beat them; yes but I doubt they will .

PI replay review NFL/CFL
I think the ability to review PI was started with good intentions but it is a subjective call that it makes it difficult to know what 'pi' is from game to game and ref to ref. here is the link to the rule:https://cfldb.ca/rulebook/passing/forward-pass/#r6s4a10 I am fairly critical of the refs but you need a PHD in rocket science to understand how to implement these rules.

Medlock the Mising Link
It is not often that a kicker can change the complexion of a team but the addition of Medlcok combined with his stellar play is one of if not the major reason for the Bombers turn around. For example, Hallalarhu misses a make able field goal late just before the Bombers surge whereas Medlock boots a 51 yarder to pull the Bombers within 7. Points taken off the board by a missed kick vs. points obtained = Bomber win. the Bombers don't extend their win streak without him. Walters deserves GM of the year just for signing him. Agree or disagree??

Why Is Denmark the Odd Man Out?
I am enjoying the 5 game win streak but fear messing with the chemistry could have unfavorable results, specifically if Denmark is the odd man out on Saturday in favor of Ryan Smith. I know that Denny was let go and there were reasons for that but he has shown he is a gamer and has chemistry with Nicolls plus is reliable. Is anyone else concerned that this sends the wrong message to the team?

Bye Week Blues
Agreed they can use the bye week but they are on such a roll it'll be tough to not watch them play but this is a great position to be in and a win streak that I don't think any of us saw coming!
- Aug 12 - Winnipeg at Toronto

Bye Week Blues
I agree with both of you but I want to say the rebuild is over just can't do it yet and with Dressler and Denmark the opposing defences could look like Swiss cheese provided the o-line continues to improve !
-
Bye Week Blues
Just when it's becoming fun to watch this team along comes the bye week to take away the momentum. The good news is the next 3 games are very winnable but are definite trap games with Montreal and Sask reeling. I'm enjoying the win streak that the team and all fans deserve after the past few seasons. My concern is that they can't keep up this pace and that one the defences figure out Nicols there will be trouble. I want to believe but they have to beat the likes of Hamilton with Collaros. Calgary and Ottawa before the rebuild is over. Agree or disagree??

Coach Mike' Everything is' O'Shae
After hearing the coach state that he didn't think the Bombers got blown out in Calgary and that they played a good 4th quarter i have to question if he is fit to coach this team. I know he admitted the 2nd and 3rd were garbage but to take anything positive from the 4th quarter when Calgary rushed 3 men on defence and looked totally disinterested until they realized they took the pedal off the gas too quickly is ridiculous and patronizing to fans. The fact is Calgary's defence had no problem stopping Willy and Co. late in the 4th when it kinds/sorta mattered. He may have been using this as a way to boost his teams confidence but if they are that fragile then the problems run deeper than what has been uncovered during the first two games. He may turn this around and make this post seem foolish but I doubt it at this point. Moreover, it may not all be his fault as there are many problems from poor o-line play, Willy having happy feet, the secondary and d-line looking weaker American beer! I was a huge fan of his play calling when he was special teams coach for the Argos but he has not been able to translate that to his management of this team as head coach and unfortunately it may be time to put an end to this experiment that is becoming more and more similar to the Tim Burke, Jim Daley and dare i say Reinebold eras( he only has 6 more wins than Reinebold did in 4 more games!!) I believe some coaches are made for the top job whereas some are better suited to be assistants and Coach Mike 'Everything is ' O'Shea may be better suited to be an assistant.
