  1. I don't come on here nearly as much as I used to because I find the negativity crazy. I just wanted to pop in on a bye week to remind everyone we're the only team in the league with a winning record the last 4 seasons. 3 grey cup appearances and 2 wins in the last 3. It's ok to just enjoy the ride despite the flaws. We had years on end of awful teams and coaches to complain about. Despite not being perfect, since 2019 this is the best franchise in the CFL. A few years ago it was a dream just to see a grey cup win, the idea that Winnipeg would become the top team in the league for years, unheard of. Enjoy it. Enjoy Saskatchewan losing every game. Enjoy Calgary trying to just scrape into the playoffs. Just enjoy it

Yup...it's good there is differing opinions...arguments...disagreeing....but in end we all game and want to see the Cup back here...I have my thoughts and opinions as I want the best product...and not do the atypical regression and slide to Rider type disaster...doesn't mean I want to see failure...quite the opposite

Growing up in rural MB, I was able to take my dad's old beater out after I got my license. It was winter and I went down snowy backroads, learning how a vehicle reacts on snow and ice. I'd rip around the driveway after a snowstorm before shoveling it. Get stuck, figure my way out and get stuck again. It was so much fun and I quickly learned how to drive in poor conditions and how to get out if I got stuck.
  4. I am positive that most of the negativity around here is a direct result of the perceived negative management of the roster and I am also positive of that we all want positive outcomes despite the negative vibe at times.
  5. I am ready for this week and hopefully a great game by our boys on Saturday.
  6. Is Lorenzo Mauldin signed to just a 1 year deal? If so, what a pick up he'd be for the Bombers in free agency. maybe he's tired of playing on a shitty team & would want to be part of a Championship contender! If Mauldin's indeed a free agent, we should go after him hard.

I have a high standard and and expect the best..hence my critique ..been on both sides of the fence in regards to football teams...
  8. Glad to see some of these posts. I don't love a drive by from someone who doesn't post regularly and just comes here out of nowhere to take a shot at the gen pop of this site. As mentioned, there's lots of differing opinions and you can like it or not, but we all at least understand it.

What happened two and three years ago has no impact on today. Last year even has a minimal impact now. It’s not the same team and it’s not the same league.

    I love Matty.

Yup...he'd been a great fulltime addition on TSN as he actually adds value and insight...Next yr if they went with Scianatti as host...with heavy use of Lapo...Naylor and yes Sanchez ..he can be a slug at times but he does offer actual value as the panel that would be a step in right direction kepp Dunnigan in the both...his color is great..his Dunniganess in his delivery is great...
  13. Do it against someone who isn't Ottawa and then brag.
  14. This board will be a better place when the Argos lose in the East final.
  15. Still waiting on someone to call Poulin's about the roach problem here.....

Same I love his energy in the booth. It’d be well worth him going through a media course and refining his colour skills. I actually love Paul in the booth even more too. If we had either blm Matt or Paul in the booth doing colour for every game that’d be fantastic. With Paul being on the panel when not in the booth. Scianatti as host would be soo much better.
  17. You're arguing in circles.
  18. It's just me but I've never understood posts like this. I get the message but what we do here with each other agreeing, disagreeing most of us know at the end of the day it's all in good fun and all this stuff is a far second to real life but posting stuff like be more positive is ironically toxic whether meant or not. Oh and argos suck.
  19. I ain't picking up what you're laying down but sure keep selling it cuz some of us ain't buying it. Oh and the consistency argument you've been hocking here is out the door, on to the next rationalization.
  20. Weird. We were told how they played us a few games back, i.e., starting Dukes, putting their high school qb in at a critical point, resting other starters normal cuz you know preseason. Crock of ****.

Partly the way the season went last year, partly STH's who left, partly the economy. Walk ups will be very important this year and usually that goes up if the team does well.
  22. Could be an interesting stat in the playoffs - giving the opposition all that extra TOP.
  23. Apparently it was Brandon Calver.
  24. Don't be so negative, he deserves a chance with his starting qb!
  25. Knee injury. Typical Redblack football. Score a go-ahead TD and then kick out of bounds, give the Argos super easy field position, and blow the lead.

I'm sure there was more than one qb or halfback who filled his pants knowing Butkus would be there to "greet"him as soon as he crossed the LOS. Or came hard on a blitz.

Man alive that was way closer than it needed to be. Tkachuk nearly tied it. Little concern with the last 2 games and Jets inability to hold the lead /tie. But a w is a w.
  29. Is cow tipping still a thing?
  30. I have a shot whenever Matty says discombobulated.
  31. All I can say is that I have no complaints about this week's roster.
  32. We only need to win 1 game to clinch the west because we have the tie break against BC.
  33. Receivers were better when Harris was throwing to them.

Elks pretty banged up too...I not concerned about either of our games ...if the cgy one means diddly to us I would like to see the Jeff's sat and see what Garbutt and Haba with Hansen rotated in can do...I'd like to see both Fox and Walker take snaps together too..but on offence I want all the regs dressed and get reps...

If by good you are including training that involves being responsible, safe, alert and courteous, I'm with you on this.

Having had kids go through driver training just a few years ago, I found that the education and testing was more rules based than skills based, and almost seems geared to “we will fail you a few times to collect fees” rather than “we will teach you how to drive well”. My daughter did 4 tests, got three automatic fails for technical violations, including two situations where she got different instructions for the same maneuver, and was told she was wrong both times for doing what they told her. Last test she was on Chief Peguis and told to take the exit lane. She paused and the instructor (who had failed her once before) said “if you don’t get over as soon as the lane opens up, I will automatically fail you”. She said “I have to wait” and the instructor was going to fail her when a car roared by them on the shoulder, passing illegally on the right. My daughter had checked her mirrors and seen it coming. so she waited to avoid getting rear-ended. She passed (barely, said the instructor to me). Mentioned the incident and I snapped back “if the driver’s actions prevent the instructor from causing an accident with an improper instruction and no shoulder check from the passenger’s seat, maybe that should qualify as an automatic pass. Now, if it was an MPI training vehicle rather than her personal car, I would gladly have told her to follow your dangerous instructions and wreck your car”. No more critiques from the instructor after that. When my son tested later, he had a similar experience of automatic fails for minor flaws, so we hired a private instructor to train him for his final test and they drove him around the area where the test was going to happen, near Bison Drive. Took him to a weird school zone stop sign where there was a crosswalk beyond the stop sign and you had to stop twice before proceeding through the intersection. The instructor said “The instructors love to take students here and then fail them because no one really knows what to do in this zone, it’s badly designed”. He passed the test and when he did the right maneuver at that tricky spot the instructor later said “I was waiting to see if you were going to fail in that place”. I would much prefer a training system that teaches you to be a good driver rather than an obedient driver - the former is more valuable in promoting safety.
  37. Did I mention how Lapo would make a wicked GM?
  38. Not really the place but I have first-hand knowledge of what it's like having a spouse go through chemo while having young kids at home. It's so incredibly draining on everyone and it feels endless. **** cancer!
