Or it could be this: (also from reddit) damnburglar ·1 hr. ago I always tell people Wab Kinew once pushed me in No Frills but I feel like I should clarify. It was a Wednesday—the Lord’s day—and I had a hankering for the holiest of gourds: the spaghetti squash. I perused the produce aisle with only one thing on my mind when lo and behold Wab appeared before me, holding what would turn out to be the last spaghetti squash. He caught me looking covetously at his prize and his demeanour immediately shifted darkly. Before I knew it, I was lying face first in the discounted kale, unsure of what happened. Upon reviewing the security footage with the store manager, it seems that Wab was never there, but apparently neither was I. The mystery of this phantom memory has haunted me for years, and my story likely serves as a means for my mind to cope with whatever trauma I experienced that day. I hope that clarifies things…. but please do not let this extensive clarification distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table.

Give it rest, Wheeler. There's a reason (or reasons) your C was taken away from you. Bowness nailed it. No pride. No push back in a do or die game. I guess the truth hurts some of these privileged, overpaid manbabies.

The longer I wait for GC’s “bombshell” news that will destroy Wab, but that he refuses to post, the more I think it’s going to sound something like this:

Lots of fans agree with you. Stastny said it, Kevin Hayes said it. Like the locker room Chipman’s arrogant letter to season tickets holders, the threat, is absurd. That stuff can’t be overlooked. Bowness bringing the players down a peg is a step to improve the team. Chipman should be able to handle it. Failing to recognize the “outing” of the poor play, back from January February, is hiding from the problems. Do fans want the poor effort to continue? Seems some do. Does the organization expect to sell tickets with a less than champion effort? Not addressing the lack of effort is like enabling alcoholics. Bowness did a good thing. A needed intervention. Ripping a band aid is worse than what he revealed.

I think long term it's a good thing for the CFL because more kids will now take up football at a grassroots level, with NFL aspirations and if that's not an option, they'll always have us. The more kids in football the better.

Handle it internally.....what a bloody joke Wheeler.....That's exactly what a loser says so he can cover his tracks....We had a coach for the Bombers who uttered those sentiments.....Mike Kelly, I believe, had the same schtick when cornered ....'It's being handled internally' was his bull$hit line.....He exited our club like a loser........and the team has been better ever since.....Don't hide crap from the paying public...get it all out and start the renewal for cripes sake....I hope Wheeler is moved (if that's even possible) and Bowness should get a bump in pay for telling it like it is

Nope. Ehlers had no problem, he just wants to play hockey, no guilty conscience from him. 37 isnt bitching about the coaches comments. Every player “quoted” is more like it. 55, 44 haven’t been quoted. and from someone who should know what he’s talking about… Oh my, another player not bitching at the coach.

You’re right that’s kinda mean. I don’t think just under the draft pick punishment can be an accident.
  19. I know Miller blamed the overage on injuries but wouldn't they have had re-signing bonuses included in the total as well? Not that it matters but it would appear to me the team knowingly went over the cap.

re bed bath beyond: "Why do private equity firms succeed when the companies they buy so often fail? In part, it’s because firms are generally insulated from the consequences of their actions, and benefit from hard-fought tax benefits that allow many of their executives to often pay lower rates than you and I do. Together, this means that firms enjoy disproportionate benefits when their plans succeed, and suffer fewer consequences when they fail." (can not link nyt article so here is a bit) Why do private equity firms succeed when the companies they buy so often fail? In part, it’s because firms are generally insulated from the consequences of their actions, and benefit from hard-fought tax benefits that allow many of their executives to often pay lower rates than you and I do. Together, this means that firms enjoy disproportionate benefits when their plans succeed, and suffer fewer consequences when they fail. Consider the case of the Carlyle Group and the nursing home chain HCR ManorCare. In 2007, Carlyle — a private equity firm now with $373 billion in assets under management — bought HCR ManorCare for a little over $6 billion, most of which was borrowed money that ManorCare, not Carlyle, would have to pay back. As the new owner, Carlyle sold nearly all of ManorCare’s real estate and quickly recovered its initial investment. This meant, however, that ManorCare was forced to pay nearly half a billion dollars a year in rent to occupy buildings it once owned. Carlyle also extracted over $80 million in transaction and advisory fees from the company it had just bought, draining ManorCare of money. ManorCare soon instituted various cost-cutting programs and laid off hundreds of workers. Health code violations spiked. People suffered. The daughter of one resident told The Washington Postthat “my mom would call us every day crying when she was in there” and that “it was dirty — like a run-down motel. Roaches and ants all over the place.” In 2018, ManorCare filed for bankruptcy, with over $7 billion in debt. But that was, in a sense, immaterial to Carlyle, which had already recovered the money it invested and made millions more in fees. " legalized fraud.

  35. I really disagree with his reasoning on why the Bombers would take him. I don't think he'll be much of a special teams guy. He's bulking to play inside. I can see the Bombers taking a DB quite early.

I'll give the club a slim out after that debacle in Vegas....that would be injuries...HOWEVER where has this clubs depth gone.....non-existent...The starters aren't good enough in a lot of instances .....and that equals pathetic....I don't know what gms are out there that would want to come here and clean up this mess BUT the hunt should be in progress yesterday.....Players that don't want to be here should get a ticket out of town ....pronto.....It looks like we'll be rebuilding from the ground up but it should start at the top.....Really appreciated the honesty from Bowness....my kind of guy...I hope he sticks around
  39. Some more reading material for the upcoming draft. Barker gives out a couple backhanded compliments that made me chuckle like saying one guy is "a solid USPORTS LB with no special qualities". One receiver doesn't run very well but hey he catches everything... well except 50/50 balls anyway. 😂 https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/2023-cfl-draft-barker-s-top-5-prospects-at-each-position-1.1952787

Bastions of freedom? If you're a white racist, for sure. Book burning, attacking children and parents, culture wars, protecting pedophiles and the ability to shoot people you don't like. This does sound like something the UCP and Smith would want. Also seems to the be the CPC/PPC position as well. The ****ing worst people.

Anyone who hasn't seen the presser, it is a must watch IMO. Pretty much sums up the feelings of a lot of the fans as well. You have a coach in Maurice who basically fired himself because he was out of ideas with this group. Bring in Bowness, who at his age and where he is in his career / retirement, can be very open and honest with what he says here. Changes are needed.
