I think the thing with Corin is that he was an NFL player so they felt there was merit in rushing him.  And perhaps he wouldn't bother working indies for years to get better.

Drew had "it" when he debuted years ago too but they dropped the ball, over-pushed him etc.  He's really good though.

I agree about Lana.  She doesnt *have* to wrestle.  Why cant she be a valet?  She was a good character.  I thought the same with Carmella too, should have kept her with Cass.  But she's done alright.

If Corbin quit, then that would be fine with me. Good luck trying to find a career that pays anywhere close to what he made in the NFL or in the WWE. So, I think he would continue to wrestle. I feel the same way you do about McIntyre. He's more than ready to come back to Raw or Smackdown. I guess we'll see how long he remains NXT champion.

Bobby Roode is the only star on Smackdown?

I mean...ok.  He was literally working less than Adam Cole and Drew before he signed with NXT.  And NXT is a development promotion that also had Neville, Joe, Nak, Owens, Zayn, Charlotte, Banks etc before they were called up and are top stars on their brands.

I think you just summed up a development promotion lol

What?  Bobby Roode is on Smackdown?  Not sure what you meant by that.

And yeah it is a developmental promotion.  But I'm not sitting there watching it saying "Oh yeah this is **** but I'm ok with that because it is developmental."  No, as a fan that doesn't come into it at all for me.  Either it's entertaining or it isn't, I couldn't give two shits about it being developmental.  And NXT is not entertaining, it's sloppy and boring.

so, thoughts about Nikki Bella possibly being on DWTS for season 25?

Good for her if she gets on. Haven't really heard of any negatives coming from people who've participated. And Jericho's been on the show before,  so she's not the first wrestler to give it a try.  I don't think it piques my interest in the show at all, but at least I know who she is and she'd be a lot hotter dancing then someone like Buzz Aldrin

I prefer NXT because ill take a good wrestling match over storylines anyday. Wrestling is changing... Its EVOLVing.. Its PROGRESSing... Soon it will be all about the in ring product and less about the story... Storylines have been awful for some time... More and more people just want good wrestling with logical booking... NXT gives you that. RAW and SD are actually extremely overbooked... And over produced and just... On the bomber section we talk about Lapo out smarting himself.. Well RAW and SD does the same... They have got away from the formula that has worked for years... Good Guy vs Bad Guy... Its now... Babyface who acts like heel but is stupid vs Heel who gets more of a reaction...

Ill use Roman as an example... Roman isnt awful... He has good matches.. Not always but most times he does... Hes the new face of WWE.. Well, that new face is boo'd out of buildings... Why? Not because hes green or he is awful or he sucks... He gets boo'd because he has been booked to look like hes some undeafatable superhero... Fans **** on him because the guy is maybe 6 4 230 in reality... The fans cheer Brauuuuuun tho... Cuz he looks the part of the monster.

On one hand u have an overbooked Roman Reigns... On the other you got a perfectly booked Strowman..

WWE is their own worst enemy... Brock vs Braun is $$$$$.... Brock vs Roman is crickets.

Also NXT Takeovers have a big time event feel to them... Summerslam or even Mania or any other PPV feels like its just another 3 or 4 hour RAW or SMackDown

Your last 2 sentences... NXT doesn't have more of a big time feel to it. It looks just like what it is.  A PPV. It reminds me of WCW in a lot of ways before the WWF invasion. Junior to WWE. The best matches are the ones with veteran wrestlers involved. Not the wrestlers coming out of the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando.

That was so weird.  It looked like it was a bad sell at first but then he was swearing and punching stuff and it seemed that he actually was hurt.  But when he actually got hurt it totally looked like a work.

I thought work too.  Even the way he reacted seemed like a worked shoot.  Because you're supposed to always try to get the intended finish.  Supposedly the finish was the elbow and pin.  So, he goes for the elbow and his knee collapses and he rolls away.  Why not just fall on Enzo and pin him?  Weird.  I watched it again and can see Cass telling the ref he's hurt and the ref reaches back to his mic pack, presumably to relay info back to Gorilla Position.  So perhaps he was told, if Cass cant finish to wave it off.

Very weird.  Tough break.  Cass was getting over.

I'm still not totally sold.  What was even the point of that match?  Cass beats the piss out of Enzo yet again?  Makes no sense.

And he got hurt falling outside the ring and is limping, talks to the ref, but then appears fine.  He did a move on Enzo, I think it was a sidewalk slam, with no noticeable limp at all.  Then he is setting up for the elbow and his knee "collapsed" in such a strange way.  I'd be really curious to hear what the injury is.

He's scheduled for an MRI so unless they're doing a heck of a work, it was not a work.

Bobby Roode was backstage but didnt appear so possible for SD.  Undertaker has been around too...

If Roode is being called up to one of the 2 programs SD makes more sense with Cena coming over to Raw.  But man that Cena/Reigns vs Joe/Miz match last night was kinda brutal.  I did like the segment that lead up to it with the Miz looking like he was about to start crying demanding his moment.  The crowd was it's usual day after a PPV self. Cena is really starting to look his age and seemed a lot smaller out there imo

Not sure how someone could say NXT is boring compared to the main product.

I'll take guys like Aleister Black over guys like Roman Reigns any day, to be honest. And now they're talking Reigns/Lesnar for WM34? Good grief.

The sooner Reigns gets off my TV, the better. He's horrible. He's the new 5 moves of doom specialist, except it's more like 3.

Wait, does Aleister Black even have 3?  There's the kick.... the uhh... other kick.... the "sit down in the middle of the ring and look brooding"....

I mean, there's lots more than that but yeah obviously the emphasis is going to be placed on his striking since that's his gimmick.

And his gimmick beats itsmuhyardimthebigdog any day of the week, especially when you add in all the power ups, poorly executed superman punches, running hugs and ... fist charges?

comment_285186

the biggest problem I see with Reigns is he looks devoid of any energy/excitement if he's not either cocking his arm for a superman punch or setting up for a spear which is 98% of the time. It's almost impossible as a viewer to get excited for someone who doesn't look excited themselves.   Like Braun i think his best situation was in a faction like the shield as the "muscle" who can let the others around him being the hype bringers on the stick while he can be his monotone self in the background doing what he does when need be.

In a perfect world now that Dean and Seth are back on good terms is the shield be reformed,  Braun and Bray get back together (maybe bring Erick Rowan over to SD), turn Finn Balor and have him back together with Gallows and Anderson, and get some feuds going
