Posted December 23, 20159 yr comment_176143 After Tee Martin left Winnipeg & got into coaching he's done quite well. martin is a PAC 12 Recruiter of the year now promoted to Offensive Coordinator at the University of Southern California. http://www.usctrojans.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/121815aaa.html
December 23, 20159 yr comment_176185 Something tells me he won't be looking to K Peterson to fill the role of receivers coach.
December 23, 20159 yr comment_176189 What's the saying?.... Those who can't play, coach... something like that...

December 23, 20159 yr comment_176235 Tee Martin may or may not have been a competent quarterback for us...hard to say how he would have done with a competent coach and/or team around him. But congrats to the guy, obviously he has some smarts...
December 23, 20159 yr comment_176236 Former Bomber quarterbacks have become very successful down south. Kingsbury HC at Texas Tec. Zac Taylor OC in Miami.

December 23, 20159 yr comment_176248 Clearly true. He was not in the wrong place at the wrong thing me with subpar talent and coaching. Good on him.
December 24, 20159 yr Author comment_176256 Lots of former players who never distinguished themselves on the field & went into coaching did very well. Looks like he started from the bottom at USC, worked hard, studied hard, became a great recruiter, receiver coach & now an OC. Don't be surprised if he does well as an OC if head coaching possibilities open up for Martin. I'm happy for the guy. I hope he does well. And he's a former Blue Bomber so all the best to him.

Carried by his team. you cant compare the two even at ncaa. Im kinda surprised considering all the negative stuff that surrounded him after he left.

I havent followed has he been qb coach there or was he oc some place? He got out of football some what young with out a lot of pro wear and tear on him so he could have a good long career as a coach if hes doing well.
December 25, 20159 yr Author comment_176341 All I know is some of his USC history. Was a successful receivers coach at that school. Aso a very successful recruiter for the Trojans & now promoted to OC for them.

I know that when USC plays UCLA it usually means the best players in the LA & So Cal area that played for & against each other in high school continue the rivalry in college. It's really something to see.

I have a feeling you said what you said in jest but I'd hardly call a coach like Cal Murphy, Bud Grant, Frank Clair, Hugh Campbell, Bill Belichek, Vince Lombardi, Paul Brown or Bill Walsh failures. The same thing could be said of you when you think about it. You promote pro wrestling but you can't perform at a high level in the ring. Like the WWE. Does that mean you're a failure? Only you could take a well known saying and twist it into an argument like this. It's just a saying. I mean really generally the best coaches weren't terribly great players (there are always exceptions but a lot of coaches were pedestrian at best players)
