I might start buying merch again this year. It has nothing to do with management. It's the first year in a few that I might be able to wear some of it. The bombers don't really sell fat guy sizing. Do

  • The last game played at Taylor Field will be the most important game in the history of the stadium. The end of a era. The memories of days gone by will be missed. Children growing up and going to game

  • Really like this. All the best, Alex (Suber) !

The fanbase has eroded now as the team has absolutely stunk since.  Most fans don't trust the team anymore. That's almost a different era. Today with the game on TSNHD, most fans would say **** it & stay home.

yes in the same way the fanbase was eroded in 09 and 10, but as soon as the winning started...guess what happens??

That's a low price for Mo. Riders look to be improving and we look same old.

A real bargain considering the attitude he brings with him.

Sounds like Jonesies kind of guy...Give everyone in the teams management the finger and clown your way on to the team...Wonder how long he'll last in riderville, especially when the fans there are talking about dumping Dressler and his salary to keep him around...Might be a heavy Price to pay for a guy the redblacks seen as expendable...They can keep him.

I remember reading this tweet and thought  'what an idiot', who would want that ego? The answer, of course, is another ego - Chris Jones.  And,

The figure of $160k is a lot for his performance so far..

Put these together...and you get why we didn't go there.

His Twitter timeline over the last little while was an interesting read.

His take home from the Grey Cup cheque after taxes and conversions to US was like $2K - 3K.   The playoff bonus money for players hasn't gone up in years.

Also complaining about how SK can afford to pay Chris Jones close to $1M but the players make very little (and for the most part he is trying to stick up for the players make league minimum, not his $160k).  Also pretty vocal about what the players gave up or didn't get during the last CBA.

Now, I don't think Twitter is necessarily the best medium for how he is going about this.  But he has some valid points.

In what other sports league do the players make less then the coaches and GMs.

The problem of course is that the CFL is not the premiere football league and the best talent will either go to the NFL or they won't.  And if they don't, they don't have many other options if they want to stay in football.  So there is lots of supply.   This isn't true for the NFL, NHL, NBA. MLB.  Those players are pretty much the top players in the world playing in the top leagues.

Aren't we paying Moore about the same money?

$140,000 I believe.

Far more than that.

I'd give Carter 225k easy and wouldn't even blink. He's an animal.

Moore makes closer to $180,000 - $185,000.

... who are you debating with?

Just commenting on Moore's salary. He signed with us for 2 years at $360,000. Hoping to get him cheaper than that ($180,000) this year. $140,000 sounds about right. As for Carter, I agree, I'd give him $225,000. He'd be a nice addition to our receiving corp.
