June 22, 201510 yr comment_127358 Interesting - wonder if they view him as a veteran presence for what is a fairly young linebacking core. Report
June 22, 201510 yr Author comment_127359 And now he's officially been added to the practice roster. Report
June 22, 201510 yr comment_127360 I don't mind this at all. Don't know tons about the guy but have heard his name lots. Report
June 22, 201510 yr comment_127361 This should enable them to move Randle back to weakside CB. Shell plays on the SAM. I'm good with that. Report
June 22, 201510 yr comment_127363 Not to sound like the others making comparisons with Addison Richards, etc, but this feels similar to the Romby Bryant move of last year... Report
June 22, 201510 yr Author comment_127364 The way I look at it - it's a veteran presence in the secondary / linebacking group. Not to mention even at 33, this guy brings it on special teams. I don't like a lot of these old age signings (such as Bryant last year) but I like Shell. Report
June 22, 201510 yr comment_127369 I don't know if people remember the show that TSN did on the Argos behind the scenes a few years ago but on one show they focused on Lin J Shell for an episode and how much he does to help youth football in Florida and getting kids out of gangs and off the streets. I wish him all the best, and if he can help the Bombers this year, I hope he enjoys his one last year in the sun. Report
June 22, 201510 yr comment_127370 Mixed feelings on this. Feels a little Kuale/Romyeque but given the greeness of our lb core, likely a good move. Report
June 22, 201510 yr comment_127372 If he can play SAM I like the move. Sounds like he's an option at safety and DB too. I didn't watch him at all last year, but if he any better than Jovon/Banks were in their final year with the Bombers? Report
June 22, 201510 yr comment_127373 At his age it seems like a regressive move, unless he can be expected to instruct the starters on playing the position better. Report
June 22, 201510 yr comment_127375 Shell's best days are behind him IMO. Don't think he's an upgrade over our current DB's. Report
June 22, 201510 yr comment_127377 Meanwhile Vega signs in Toronto as does Whittaker and we talking about us signing a washed up player? Wow. Report

June 22, 201510 yr comment_127389 Also of note, Malachi Freeman released to make room... Really? He seemed like a gamer to me... Also thought it odd, as he's the most recent name brought in to camp... Report

June 22, 201510 yr comment_127398 What makes Shell washed up? How come when ancient Korey Banks was signed this was a smart move to add a veteran? Report
June 22, 201510 yr comment_127404 Age... is in the eye of the beholder..... The more glass of gin you take... the people in front of you gets younger Report
