As per usual, Dan Knapp blew everyone away. And guess who finished last, by alot...Tyson Pencer. He's probably just really out of shape and not taking the job very serious. Too bad as he had some physical tools...it was probably the mental part of the game and offseason training that he couldn't handle.

Can we fire Mack again, or at least bad-mouth him severely? I was really hoping he would step up this year- it would have solved so many problems, but instead it was a complete waste of draft pick and money.

Muamba & Etienne with 1 + 4 in '11; Pencer with a top pick and burning a 1st pick to nab Kito Poblah in supplemental draft. Â Muamba was a no-brainer but he's in indy now, Pencer is CFL deadwood. Green Narrow (Jade) and Poblah still moping around in CFL camps.

June 12, 201411 yr comment_56018 Neither guy will ever work in the CFL again but frankly I'd take a guy like Lyle Bauer over Joe Mack anytime. They are both bottom of the barrel GMs but at least Bauer didn't put his bank account ahead of the team as much as Mack did. Â Both guys were lazy pigs but Lyle was able to sell tickets and forgive debts for lousy football. Â All Mack did was wake up, have a triple/triple and go back to sleep! Â The Bomber board had a decision. Hiring Jim Barker vs. a career tramp named Joe Mack. Â They went with Mack cuz an old codger/ex bomber GM named Mad Dog remembered Joe's name from the Cal Murphy era. And Barker was a 6'3", 375 lb. load the board thought might stink up the office.

It wasn't like Pencer was a projected 4th round pick some other team would of scooped him up. Taman never had bad drafts because he dealed away all of our picks. The mack hate is lame. As for Pencer , many people on here noticed how terrible he was and they all said he was going to get cut in a matter of time.
June 12, 201411 yr comment_56035 I don't think the "hate on" for Pencer would be as pronounced had Mack not squandered additional assets in acquiring him.  Yes .. teams have first round busts .. happens all the time in the CFL .. but .. targetting a player in a trade up .. then missing out on that player .. was a mess in and of itself. Then you add on the fact that the guy we settled on couldn't carry Walby's jock strap .. and understandably .. angst will run high.
