February 24, 201411 yr Author comment_42016 This seems like a very interesting hire. He's old ... 71 years old ... but he's got a TON of NCAA OC experience at big name schools.
February 24, 201411 yr Author comment_42018 Offensive assistant at Idaho State from 1968-1970 Offensive assistant at Utah from 1971-1973. Offensive assistant at Oregon in 1974. Offensive coordinator at Illinois from 1987-1989 Offensive coordinator at Texas from 1992-1997. Passing game coordinator and QB coach at UNLV in 1999. Head coach of Scottish Claymores (NFLE) from 2001-2003
February 24, 201411 yr Author comment_42019 Also worth noting, he's been the QB coach at every NCAA job he's ever held.
February 24, 201411 yr comment_42020 He also was QB coach with Omaha in the UFL while Bellefeuille was OC.

February 24, 201411 yr comment_42022 Paul Friesen @friesensunmedia 8m What's this, the #Bombers have a quarterback's coach? Will wonders never cease?
February 24, 201411 yr comment_42023 I just hope this guy isn't another Mike Kelly or Gary Crowton. Those guys apparently knew a lot about being a QB too, and yet all they knew how to do was fail spectactularly.
February 24, 201411 yr comment_42024 He was Scottish Claymore HC in NFLEL but apparently he has no QB coach in his staff, so its safe to assume he coached the QBs too. His OC coached the receivers.
February 24, 201411 yr comment_42026 I hope he understands the CFL game. He's been around so long, I think he invented the CFL game.
February 24, 201411 yr comment_42028 Oh yay...another link to Bellefeuille. That always exudes so much confidence in me for this teams future. Well with that much experience I hope he's really good at what he does, especially in our league. I'm with Gbill and KBF, I hope this guy can figure out our game and teach accordingly. NCAA isn't the same as the CFL. I hope O'Shea knows what he's doing.
February 24, 201411 yr comment_42029 Speaking of old QB's ... this pic is crazy and has a CFL HOF in it ... it was taken in 1961, the story is here ... http://thestacks.deadspin.com/fourteen-nfl-quarterbacks-play-nice-in-a-chicago-photo-1472029686/1472553327/@tcraggs22 Photo Credit: Ralph Morse—Time & Life Pictures/Getty Images Above, back row, l-r: Milt Plum, Bobby Layne,* Sam "The Rifle" Etcheverry, Bill Wade, Bart Starr,* Johnny Unitas,* Norm Snead, Zeke Bratkowski; front row, l-r: Jim Ninowski, Fran Tarkenton,* Don Meredith, John Brodie, Sonny Jurgensen,* Y.A. February 24, 201411 yr comment_42030 I hope he understands the CFL game. CFL experience is not really a requirement for positional coach... not unlike the OC and DC.
February 24, 201411 yr comment_42034 I just hope this guy isn't another Mike Kelly or Gary Crowton. Those guys apparently knew a lot about being a QB too, and yet all they knew how to do was fail spectactularly. He's not running the offence. I wouldn't be concerned.
February 24, 201411 yr comment_42035 We've been waiting quite awhile for a qb. coach and finally have him. As far as his age goes, you have to be around that long to acquire the experience this man has. Could be a little snow on the chimney, doesn't mean there's no fire in the furnace. Looking forward to see what he can bring to our guys.
February 24, 201411 yr comment_42037 I hope he understands the CFL game. He's been around so long, I think he invented the CFL game. He probably mentored "Indian" Jack Jacobs.
February 24, 201411 yr comment_42042 He worked the last number of years as a "special consultant" ... sounds familiar

February 24, 201411 yr Author comment_42048 He worked the last number of years as a "special consultant" ... sounds familiar He's a prep coach for QBs entering college or the NFL. A lot like what Marc Trestman does during his offseasons. He just does it all year round. Dahlquist has worked with recent QBs like Marcus Mariota, Zach Mettenberger and Tajh Boyd. He also helped prep Terrell Pryor for the NFL.

Just glad this team finally entered the 2000's and hired one
