I remembered when he was on Hustler and Lawless back in the day. I messaged into the show to see if he would say 'Da Bombers.  Sure enough, he obliged. It was awesome to hear.

Dammit and I watched the 1983 Primetime Emmy Awards yesterday, once again my crap timing with watching awards shows continues.

I'm old enough to remember Dr. Kildare back in the early 60's. Chamberlain had a hit tv show but from what I remember he never enjoyed playing the Kildare character saying it was boring. Interestingly, Dr Leonard Gillespie was played by long term & renowned Canadian Hollywood actor Raymond Massey, the younger brother of former Governor General Vincent Massey.

Kilmer just had that 'something' when he played a role. He had so much charisma in every character he played. He stole the movie Tombstone as Doc Holliday. He stole the first Top Gun movie in his role as Iceman. It was the same in every movie he was in. Kilmer should have been given the lead role in the first Top Gun motion picture instead of Tom Cruise because he owned that movie. Even in Top Gun: Maverick his scene with Cruise knowing that death was coming for his character was charismatic. All Cruise had to do was know his lines, be where he was supposed to be on the set during the scene & watch Kilmer at his best even in poor health. Rest in Peace.
