Two things I would be loading up for this game…

On O, run a lot of zone read and have Collaros pull the ball.  There’s no tomorrow and nobody expects him to run.  Extend it to RPO too with some verticals on the backside he can hit if he has time to set his feet.  There’s a couple big plays in that and if you hit them the Argos D will have to adjust and slow down their pass rush.

On D, zone blitzes, specifically that dog look where Jefferson/Garbutt drop into the area Kramdi, Cole or Grffin vacate when they blitz.  Arbuckle is going to be running a pretty simple vertical/between the hashes game in terms of downfield passes.  Bait him into mistakes or to hold the ball.

Here's the key for our D nicely summarized in nine words.

Arbuckle isn't a rookie so not expecting the Bombers to go after him too much. Conventional thinking is go after him. Guess we will find out.

The easiest thing for a QB to beat is straight up pressure.  I think you'll see more of the approach they used against Rourke.  Move him off first read and force him to eat the ball or turn it over.

Bombers by a mile.

That’s what I’d like to see. More bomber fans because of proximity, or Neutral site, championship game, lots of repeat attendees from every franchise. Bombers fifth big dance in a row and favoured, jealousy, Argos the underdog, or because it’s easier to hate Toronto and everything T.O. can be hated for.

The Argos secondary is as suspect as the riders imo. How many yards did they give up in the semi? over 400 i think. As long as Collaros gets time the offense should be just fine.

Time???  What time?  Betcha the Argos will be coming with their 9-man rotation again, there's not enough x and o's to nullify their pass rush everytime, or enough Wheaties left in the box to overcome the physical advantage they hold in the trenches.   Zach better make like his best Trevor Harris and get rid of the ball fast!  No dawdling or doodling around in the backfield he has to avoid any of those costly fumbles that kill drives and sap momentum.

Jesus, this Janarion article by Hodge is just absolutely horrible writing.

Absolute verbal diarrhea

A sensational and misleading title, to go with a sensational and misleading piece. Tries for the "THIS IS SO SHOCKING!" and instead it's both sides saying "love him/love those guys/no beef here"...

I just shake my head...

The best part was when he says “another factor in Janarion going to Toronto was Pete Constanza and also Janarion is from New Jersey but that had nothing to do with his choice”

like .. what??

Yeah I remember the rider dline getting a lot of hype too. Couldn't run against them...lots of pressure on zach.

I had to re-read that part a few times to see if I was missing something but nope, it was  just terribly written.

I'm still trying to figure out how Costanza, a RB coach for 1 season with us, would be a factor in him signing in Toronto.  Or why New Jersey was relevant in any aspect whatsoever?

Toronto has five Arby's locations while Winnipeg has none. Janarion stated explicitly that he does not like Arby's but it certainly makes you think, doesn't it?

On some sport sites with 'articles' provided (Hockey, football etc) I'm regularly seeing 1,2,3 minute reads that have at the end 'written with the support of AI' and I'm thinking you can't even write a short piece without the aid of AI?

But maybe in this particular case, AI would have helped.

Bloggers cosplaying journalists.... Oi and vey.

It's not even just one or two guys either - they all write stuff that is just dumb, contradictory or just plain hard to read.

Another Dumb

If you want to motivate the media and players to come to your event, put out some food.

Upon arrival on Wednesday morning, the Argonauts were excited to see a wide spread of food as they entered the Vancouver Convention Centre. One problem: that spread was for the media.

A few players were already loading up their plates before they were told they had their own spread at the end of the hall.

Seems to me that the CFL did in fact put out food for both the players and the media so what's the problem?

I know what I would do if I were either of the Coordinators for either team as it seems plainly obvious to me from each perspective... but as I don't get a vote and I'm not sure that anybody gives a toss to hear it, I'll keep my own counsel on it.

I don't think it's our only chance, but without Kelly, our margin for error is very small.

I get that you're joking and needling the Argo fan here...

But don't kid yourself into believing that the Argos don't have a few paths to victory this weekend. The Bombers are big favorites and it's deserved considering the circumstances, but they are playing a team that even without its star is the most talented and deepest roster in the league, are more physical, have a coach who routinely out gameplans and adjusts his opposition, and elite defenders and specialists who can score & take away the ball.

Argos have good depth and Dinwiddie has blossomed into a darned good coach, but Arbuckle ain't no Kelly.
