So, I know where you're going with this. Then we get into the same problem we have now. We overpaid for Brady. Overpaid for Zach. We overpaid for Schoen. Overpaid for Lawler. Overpaid for Bighill. Overpaid for BA. Sure, those contracts will be off the books by the end of 2025 but... to sign Brown we'll have to outbid Ottawa & every other CFL team. Would we do that? If we did, then we have one more player who is now overpaid & chances are will also have 3 or 4 more that will need new contracts as well. Now, we're up against the cap again like we are now. Unfortunately his coach (Jones) threw Bede under the bus by making a point of blaming that decision completely on him. Not a great way to get people to work for you and give a little extra, probably one of the main reasons Elks tend to lose so many close games.
