Why is Maier playing today? For what purpose?

I'm legit curious if a guy like Duane Forde gets a look.... Maybe not enough of a business background. Pinball might be more apt.

After his involvement with the Chad Kelly incident, I can't see the BOG wanting Pinball as the face of the league.  I certainly don't.

The global initiative was a joke and “genius”sports was pathetic. Not to mention nearly killing the league for real with that XFL merger nonsense 

On field product, attendance and TV ratings all got worse during his tenure.

I mean, TSN has just as much as anyone to do with bad ratings and stagnant product, but the earlier points still remain. Ambrosie is a flat out bad commissioner. I’m happy to see him move on.

I’d agree, but I didn’t think TSN would make Kelly the face of the league either..

Also, we see it differently but the casual fans have had Pinball shoved down their throats for years as some benevolent CFL father figure.

From what I understand is that he didn't have the confidence of every BOGer. I think a vote of 6 of 9 were needed to give him the boot. So, probably 5 of 9. They really should split the job. Have a marketing President who goes out trying to generate new revenue for the league. As well as a football President who just takes care of football matters on & off the field & negotiates new player agreements.

I believe what he’s referring to is the Covid assistance program application from the govt. the league tried to play hard ball and missed out because of it. 
 The cancellation, and launch of the 21 season were both really late, to the point the 21 schedule was a nightmare.

Ambrosie went in front of govt with no plan. That is a fireable offence and should have been it for him. Absolute embarrassment. 

Can't treat the Commissioner position like a an honorary role, which he did. No plan and the CFL is far worse off now.

After him even considering for the league to go 4 downs... I'm amazed we didn't run him out with pitch forks.   

Wade Miller would be the best choice IMO.    Pinball has dirt on his hands after the latest drama.

I would have liked to see Pinball, but I think he tarnished his image with the whole Kelly debacle. Wade would be the best choice they could make imo, IF he's interested and I'm not sure he is.

Agree. I could still see him getting an interview this time and getting the job in the future. Cus pinball is the cfls teflon man.
