That makes sense. I had read the articles about some of his off-field businesses so I knew he was already setting himself up for life after football. The timing of it happening when he was expected to take over at one of the tackle spots is unfortunate as it lead to this type of confusion.

I think most good teams run away from those situations. Like will a guy who is basically telling you he only wants to keep playing for money beat out 5 other guys who actually want to play for $50,000 USD?

Even then if you want to sit lots of guys this week more should’ve played week 1 imo. We have a bunch of turn over, rust, guys who aren’t 100%, and likely a lack of on field chemistry. I wouldn’t say we’ve acted to put our self in the best position to win week 1.
