Riderfans, whose 260k man is one of the slowest receivers in the league, are suggesting that we need to time our receiving corps with a sun dial. Ellingson could run circles around Duke.

not saying he still a 4.4 guy...but thats faster than anything Duke ever produced

The crazy part... did they have to go 300k? 260 was bc rumor... probably 50k more than bombers offered. Seems excessive. Signs for 100k more than bombers likely offered ish

That's just really poor use of money.

My guess? Doesn't work out for Kenny... released mid season... sign here again lol

So, they didn’t offer a signing bonus, meaning that he’s going to be taxed like crazy on that number.

IIRC, there’s a cap on signing bonuses for teams now? Meaning Edmonton probably spent or is planning to spend theirs and needed to go excessively high to match BC’s offer that came with a signing bonus.

Edmonton was an absolute gong show last year...300k...yea that's probably the number he had to go to get him. In defense of Jones, he inherited a franchise in disarray and it takes money to lure guys to a rebuild. He needed to establish Edmonton as a destination for free agents and that means some overpaying for a couple years.

They did not not give him a signing bonus so signing bonus is taxed at a much lower rate so had to compensate for that

we prob signed Ellingson and Bailey for price of Lawler.....Or you could say Woli/Demski....Thats the smart way to build a receiving group

Receivers are only as good as the QB and the OL protecting him. I expect big numbers from whoever we roll out at receiver because our QB has time to find them and the arm to deliver the ball. I am not knocking Lawler but realistically he is not the top receiver in the league last year playing for someone else.
