I still remember watching a Rider game back in the 1980's and they announced a sell-out.  Without missing a beat Ron Lancaster, who was doing color on the broadcast, says "that means there's no one home in the entire city of Regina right now" lol...

Lanky was really good in the booth. Kind of like a sober Dunigan.

From what I've heard about Lanky, he's wasn't all that "sober" lol.

One time I was watching a satellite feed of the Bomber game in a bar in St. Adolphe back in the early 1990's on CBC, and Lanky was doing the color.  For some reason the commercials didn't come on and so we got to hear Lancaster speaking to his play by play guy on a hot mic, as he thought everyone was on commercial and no one could hear what he was saying.  On the CBC main feed they were on commercial, but for some reason not on this CBC satellite feed.  Man did he go at it with the trucker mouth during commercials!  It was fun because we got to really hear what he thought of the coaches and players.  That was good entertainment!
