August 3, 2024Aug 3 comment_715592 As a former goaltender in hockey, still play from time to time but the knees don’t cooperate as much but as a former goaltender, terry sawchuck was a local hero for sure. Believe he died young tho but dude lived in the area i grew up in and the old incinarena was renamed to honor him. Terry grew up on Melbourne avenue in East Kildonan. I grew up about 10 streets away. Legend it’s still crazy to me that he died because him and a friend got into a bit of a brawl and yup. Weeks later he passed away. Also crazy that he’s buried in Michigan Edited August 3, 2024Aug 3 by Goalie

April 9Apr 9 comment_748565 Can’t say I’m surprised. He’s unfortunately been injured every season he’s played pro. Hopefully the Ehlers disease is treatable cuz sounds brutal. Best wishes. Maybe jets should hire him as a scout.

I never thought Thornton had what it took to be a winner. I watched that collapse of the Sharks against Edmonton in 2006 where they were up 2-0 and then lost game 3 in a mega-long OT game, and then dropped 3 straight after that, and just knew they didn't have the drive to win it all.
