Dogs are ******* awesome.

No I just think Kenney is a true believer. He's an ideologue who truly believes in his vision of the world as the correct one and he will do whatever it takes to enact that. It's ******* dangerous and a disaster waiting to happen. It's going to take years and years and years to dig out of the hole he's putting this province in. God willing Albertans come to their senses and vote his evil ass out of office next time and don't give him a 2nd term to **** things over even more.

I think our perspectives come together tho. In enacting his vision as you describe he really believes he is demonstrating great leadership. I can guarantee you if someone behind closed doors asked him if he thinks he is a good leader he would say something like well these types of people are getting upset with me so I must be doing something right. Whatever Jason keep telling yourself that.

Manitoba's numbers are quite remarkable, 294 cases out of 42,306 tests means only 0.7% of those tested had Covid. Especially since national, its roughly 5.5%.

Tourism, it's all about tourism and the lack there of. Imagine if those Yankees got up here for spring break.

Clearly, you must read the posted article again. Everybody’s still learning about this new virus, but I’ll choose to listen to health care professionals who are learning,  but in a much better position to give advice.
People who choose to use YouTube etc. must do so at their own risk.

I read it more than once. We are forced to abide by politicians as they set policy & laws. Politicians can do what the hell they want & you can see that in Canada & the US all over with States & Provinces opening up early.  Seeing it now in Alberta with Kenney's Old Folks comments this week. His flip flop while astounding is certainly not surprising. The "Good & Kind, I Really Really Care About Albertans" Jason Kenney is now being replaced by the "Bottom Line,  You Ain't Seen Nuthin' Yet, Cuts Are Coming, Ha Ha, Hee Hee, Ho Ho" Jason Kenney.

I'm not disagreeing with what you say as I agree with most of it but I don't agree with you just dumping all the bad behaviour on the general public when our political leaders play Russian Roulette despite what health officials are saying.  Or seem to act in the best interests of Big Business rather than the individual.

Doctors can be just as partisan as any of their cabinet colleagues or as bureaucrats once they are in a position to be something like a Chief Medical Officer & Health Minister.  They take their marching orders from their political leaders just like anybody else. They value their careers as much as the guy or gal next to them in cabinet. It's all partisan politics. if you're an NDP supporter are you going to really trust what Pallister says or his Health Minister? Same as in Alberta, when Rachel Notley was Premier, half the province here wouldn't have trusted her motives if there was a pandemic.  Now with Kenney, the other half feels the same way. In times of crisis people used to trust their political leaders. Not anymore but such is the reality of 2020.

As an aside, there is a doctor in New Brunswick under investigation there who went to Quebec for a visit & disregarded the 14 day quarantine & kept on seeing patients once he got back. He saw over 150 patients before he himself fell ill. Two are in serious condition in ICU & other have become sick because of him. The community only has 4 ICU beds & 2 are now occupied because of the asshat physician. You wonder how he could have been so selfish & stupid. What is the general public supposed to do when we can't even trust physicians to do the right thing?

BTW, I'm practicing self isolation still. I don't go out anywhere unless I have to. I don't see that changing for a long time.

Living here in Alberta, my perspective is he wears this as a badge of honor. That is, I truly believe that he thinks the more upset people get with his decisions and approaches, that tells him he is doing things right. He believes all his decisions are tough but needed, are courageous  and are for the greater good for Albertans.  In a lot of cases I think he is misinterpreting/misusing/misrepresenting what an effective leader looks like to rationalize what he does and how he behaves.

Overtime I've seen people in leadership positions honestly believe in themselves that they are doing things right when the people they lead are constantly getting upset with them. Constantly being the key word here.

I think he's virtually guaranteeing the NDP will be back in power in 3 years.

I lost all faith in albertans to do the right thing last time.

Albertans are angry with the way he has treated Alberta physicians but that hasn't stopped him from his Holy Crusade to gut the Alberta Medical Association & Healthcare. No one voted for him to do that. No one. It will be his undoing as well as the UCP if he does what I think he's going to do when this pandemic is over. Massive cuts to all sectors of Albertans way of life. Healthcare, education, infrastructure, etc. Everyone will be affected.  Kenney will be screwing with this province's future simply because of political ideology & blaming it on the pandemic. He will get booted out because of it.

You’re quite ignorant to reality. 100,000 dead in the US with massive lockdowns and social distancing compared to less than half of that for a regular flu season with no precautions.  Yeah nothing to see here.

Likely much more than 100,000 dead in the US. Some states like Florida, Texas and Georgia have reportedly been listing Covid-19 deaths as flu deaths when they actually release statistics.

WE ALL KNEW THIS WAS WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO BECAUSE IT WAS IN HIS PLATFORM!!!!!!

You are the epitome of someone who voted for the leopards eating faces party and then acting surprised when the leopards eat your face.

I was gonna say, if Broadbeck of all people is on the sane side of things, you know it's serious....

What he's put out since moving to the Free Press has definitely shifted so I'm not sure how much of it is his actual opinion as opposed to towing the company line.

Charles Adler has also shifted his views over the last few years but his change definitely seems more personal than Broadbeck.

Wait what? Kenny did what now? He pretty much kept his platform promises?

Yeah- that is pretty much what people who voted for Kenny were going to get... dude came as advertised. I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone bemoaning these steps if they voted for him... it is pretty much on brand for Kenny.

Weren't you one of those people that voted out Notley because she was a socialist?
