Folks around here are assuming that we're going to see the defence that played the last 4 or 5 games this year, rather than the one that showed up for the rest of the season. This is after losing 2 great DB's, who were the strength of the D and half the D line that allowed the DB's to cover tight for very short periods of time and not worry about the deep ball because it took too much time.

Folks are also assuming that Buck will be as good or better than PLAP. He'll do all the good things AND change things so the receivers will be able to get open deep AND open up the playbook AND make all the right decisions when we're ahead or behind. Collaros will play most of the games and the raw McGuire will have no problems coming in and playing when he has to. Heck, he'll be better than Streveler.

The ironic part is no one sees themselves being just like Rider fans.

I don’t take anyone who uses the word folks multiple times very seriously.

  • Now to get Brandon Banks on an off - season program that will give him the cardio needed when he's targeted 3 times in a row...

  • I still think with a different OC, Streveler could be a top tier QB in this league.

  • We must never mess with the 'Rouge' - it may serve no real purpose but most importantly it is not American and it confuses the **** out of Americans... therefore it is critically important to the Cana

the defence though for the most part of the season was one of the statistical leaders, and had given up the least, or 2nd least amount of points for most of the year...and once they tweaked tings the final quarter were lights out..so yeah..pretty sure they can be just as good in spite of Rose and Sayles departure

I remember you saying the same thing about the O line at this time last year.  You absolutely nailed that one too.  Keep up the great work!

Be ready to be crucified. I don’t think those opinions are too welcome on here.

But this is what fans do.

There's absolutely no benefit in down valuing the players we brought in to replace the players that left. Every fan base does it. So, what’s the problem? That they may not be the players that left? Maybe. Maybe not. That’s sports.

As for Buck, well he has spent a lot of time learning and probably applying what he’s learned from LaPo.
We did question LaPo, not for his schemes, but for his play calling. Will it be different under Pierce? Who knows, but it’s exciting in the fact that he’s new and an experienced QB and he knows the team.

McGuire will be just fine. This staff definitely acts and reacts differently than past regimes. We already know they’re better suited for the long run. They like McGuire. So do us fans from what we’ve seen of him.

All together, it’s not a problem until there is a problem. We don’t have to manufacture one in preseason. There’ll be plenty of second guessing when the season starts.

But for now, we can enjoy the optimism without feeling trepidation. Us ‘folks’ will let you handle that part.

As to comparing to Rider fans, you’re just wrong. We can recognize the differences. They, and you apparently, cannot.

There's nothing ironic about your posts. They're just depressing.

It must've been fun to watch the GC around you. "Sure, they won... But they didn't even score 40 points and allowed the Ti-Cats to score a TD."

I don't even read Tburgess long posts anymore...summed up..."Bombers better be careful they don't suck" or "You fans are talking about the positive aspects of this team more often then the negative so you must be blind to the potential of a horrible season!"

How far off am I?

When I see that the next post is his I just get depressed in advance.

Ill be honest... Id never buy a house from TBurg.

An excerpt from one of his ads:  "House has three bedrooms, all the good houses have four at least.  Near a school and shopping so traffic is going to be an issue.  New furnace, but you know it'll break down at some point.  Grass needs constant mowing except in the winter and then you have to shovel snow.  You know what, never mind, it's too much effort to show it."

Exactly it’s almost like the Grey cup champs, and the team with the second best record in the last four years knows what they’re doing. How about we give the champions the benefit of the doubt when it comes to roster management.

It's his only opinion.

That's just it exactly. Its hard to take his warnings and criticisms seriously when he has shown he has no balance to his outlook whatsoever. He is quite literally the boy who cried wolf. Nothing is ever good enough and doom lurks around every corner.

For the most part some of his concerns are valid, however, an equal amount are unfounded and out to lunch and it has earned him a reputation as a contrarian and that is the type of post no one respects because it is devoid of merit as often as it is right.

I hate to say it but I kinda feel the same way. A lot of Fan Boy thinking here. But of course it is not as bad as the flat billies.

It's odd because it's not true. Desjardin is the GM.

I wouldn't write the Redblacks off just yet. No one here expected them to do as well as they did in their first year, and Desjardins was responsible for that. Doesn't look good so far, but its gonna come down to their quarterbacking, I think.
