Hal Blaine from The Wrecking Crew may have been the best drummer who ever lived. You may not know who Hal Blaine was but chances are you know his music without knowing why.  He was part of the greatest collection of studio musicians who played on thousands of records with many different recording artists & bands. Blaine who was 90 when he passed away 2 days ago claims he sat in on 35,000 recording sessions & played on over 6,000 albums & 45's. Most of his studio work was uncredited. Record companies back then didn't want the general public to know that bands like the Beach Boys & The Byrds didn't play on their albums.

know what's ironic, his shooting happened on the 24th anniversay of Selena Perez's shooting, both of them had grammy nominations like a month before they died (with one of them winning) yeah the connection is too far fetched)

Always in 3's. Lipton, Day and now Conway. This one hurts. His dentist sketch or the elephant story are two of the best improv comedy bits of all time. And his Emmy awards moments with Harvey Korman are pretty hilarious too.
