With Russia out of the Olympics as well as the KHL I guess we really do have a chance to win. I don't know how good of  a change but does anyone care to prognosticate?

Actually games are going to be 6:00 am and 9:00 am central time.

I'd imagine that team Canada can fill out the roster with former Jets scraps!    Kyle Wellwood can run wild at the Olys!!

Canada's Spengler Cup team just beat Davos and won the tournament. I expect a lot of those players to make the Olympic Team.

With the NHL out, I was hoping that they could get some of the CHL players.

Depends what you mean.  Like enforce an age limit on the tournament?  Or just Canada sends the juniors while other teams are free to send pros?  Because the team that Canada is sending would dominate the gold medal winning juniors.  The best of the AHL/KHL/Euro leagues would stomp any junior team.

wait aren't most of those people on the Hockey Roster AHL players? because Isn't Howden a Moose (or used to be one?)

We just had the world juniors, why do we need another?

 

This will be very disappointing. I hope Canada wins but I'm certainly not as interested in this group of players.

Most are Euro leaguers.

As mentioned previously, just dont have the WJC for one year. ThE feeling around here tho when i proposed that was "WE CAN'T DO THAT, THEY(Hockey Canada) NEED THE MONEY!!!"

And, they do. Why cancel the WJC for the Olympics? Why would the hockey orgs agree to this? Why not both?

I would rather cancel it but on the other hand it could just be a great warmup for the Olympics.

Some really good players on that roster. It will surprise people how good the hockey will be.
