Hardworking two-way player with good size. Strong with good reach and hockey sense. Not the fastest of skaters, Gustafsson is still a great team player who can be used in most situations. Somewhat limited scoring ability, but has shown great role player qualities. (EP 2018)

He has issues off the ice. There were rumors of this in Boston and the Flames GM said similar in his interview also. There are reasons id rather not divulge in to means Off Ice

Toby gone you're saving 5m right there.

I don't see anyone in the Jets org replacing Mason as backup though. We've seen the Brick play.

They can dump Mason and find a cheap vet like they did back in the day with Montoya. Maybe Comrie is ready also?

I highly doubt they axe Buff. 

I think Myers is the guy. He was nice insurance this year as a 3rd pairing defenceman but now's the time to move on. For the Jets two years ago, when the cap didn't matter and budget did, he was a great bargain but now he's hogging up cap space. 

 

Whose a better buy at 6m a year? Myers or Trouba?
