Posted July 29, 20177 yr comment_280037 Argos vs Riders CFL Game Notes The Argos, coming off of a 27-24 last-second field goal win over the Ottawa REDBLACKS, have won five of their last seven over the Riders, including three of their last four in Saskatchewan. There have been only 81 Sacks made this season in 21 games, a rate of 3.95 per game – the second lowest in CFL history since the stat became official in 1980. Argos head coach Marc Trestman was rewarded with his 62nd career win last week, pushing his career record to 62-33. Argos DE Shawn Lemon will make his return to the Regina for the first time since being traded to Toronto on July 2, 2016, in exchange for OL Matt Sewell and INT QB Mitchell Gale. Since arriving in Toronto just over a year ago, the 2016 East Division All-Star has 29 tackles, 17 sacks and five forced fumbles with the Double Blue. 30k+: Edmonton (#1) and Saskatchewan (#2) as usual lead the CFL in attendance thus far averaging 34,044 and 33,200 per game. The Riders defence has started well allowing only 328 yards of net offence to their opponents to rank #3 overall. They have given only one rushing TD and the fewest first down in the league thus far (74). However, they have only 5 QB Sacks made (#8) and 22 QB Pressures (#8) in 4 games. Naaman Roosevelt - 15 clutch catches: Started off slowly this year but over the last 3 games has been hot. He has been targeted 29 times, caught 22 of them for 283 yards. The stats that jumps out is that two weeks ago 7 of his 10 receptions went for key 2nd down conversions - a high for any player in the CFL in 2017. He leads the CFL with 15. One of the key differences between these two clubs thus far has been forcing and taking advantage of opponent turnovers. Toronto has forced a CFL-best 10 turnovers and cashed those into 26 points. Saskatchewan has forced a league- low 4 Opponent Giveaways worth just 7 points in 4 games. Greg Morris: Comes into this game with 385 yards on 14 kickoff returns. That equates to 1,732 yards over a full season, well ahead of the Rider record of 1,231 yards set by Willis Jacox in 1991. Cameron Marshall: Leads the Riders in rushing at #5 in the CFL (206 yards) but has also been a key receiver. He has 17 catches on pace for 77 - that would be well on the way to the CFL record which is also held by a Rider, Craig Ellis in 1985 (102). Duron Carter: Was held to just 2 receptions for 12 yards last week and was targeted only 5 times. Jones said something the Riders did learn from facing Calgary was how its receivers were able to initiate contact with opposing defensive backs while running their pass routes in order to draw pass interference or illegal contact penalties. - http://regina.ctvnews.ca/chamblin-set-to-return-to-regina-but-as-toronto-argonauts-defensive-co-ordinator-1.3523172#_gus&_gucid=&_gup=twitter&_gsc=qbnhrIX Toronto’s Ricky Ray is on pace to pass for 6,826 passing yards this season, which would break the CFL All-Time record set by Doug Flutie in 1991 (6,619). Ray recorded his fifth-straight game of 300+ yards. His passing yards totals so far in 2017 are 506, 323, 366, 330 and 367. He is now the all-time passing completion percentage leader with 68.0%. ?? The majority of fans/writers are picking Toronto to win. Will we be right? Edited July 30, 20177 yr by Mr Dee

July 29, 20177 yr comment_280056 Here's to the Argos winning. I hate the Riders with the intensity of 1000 burning suns.
July 29, 20177 yr comment_280057 Ray's still got it... Pretty sure he's going to end up as an OC and then a coach in this league for a long time
July 29, 20177 yr Author comment_280058 That was an insane catch by SJ Green. Between 2 defenders? WOW!!

July 30, 20177 yr Author comment_280081 Thanks Johnny. Guess you don't know how to play touch football eh? Now we have to put up with the bullfrog headed our way from Rider fans and that insufferable Carter.. Edited July 30, 20177 yr by Mr Dee
July 30, 20177 yr comment_280083 Johnny Sears should be cut. What a stupid play by a vet. Just awful..
July 30, 20177 yr comment_280084 Do the Ti-cats have a chance? Probably not, but that won't stop me from hoping they wipe Mr. Mitchell's smug smile off his face in surprising fashion.
July 30, 20177 yr Author comment_280085 I have to say it was a huge coincidence that the VISITORS dressing room, in that oppressive heat, was not working...
July 30, 20177 yr comment_280086 Just now, Mr Dee said: I have to say it was a huge coincidence that the VISITORS dressing room, in that oppressive heat, was not working... i was thinking the same thing when they announced that at the beginning of the game
