Anyone else notice the cannon not going off after scoring plays? Sure we only had 2 on Friday night but even preseason had just one over the loud speakers once and that was it. Is this going to be all year or temporary? Anyone know?

I tweeted that out during the game without response.

 

Of course, I also tweeted out complaining AGAIN about the terrible BP fan cannon, so maybe the Bombers are tired of my complaining.

I thought there were some noise complaints last year that may have led to the cannon's demise.  Could be wrong but I thought I heard that.

It went off accidently late in the year a bunch of times during one game, including during the plays. I believe the operator injured his hearing.

There is now an actual cannon again but we haven't heard it this year, AFAIK.

I would be surprised if they went to the effort of putting a cannon back up there without actually using it. I would be disappointed if it were gone completely.

In all seriousness though, how could they get rid of the cannon... that's like, our THING. Many years our offensive production has been so woeful that Bomber touchdowns are worthy of the use of heavy artillery.

I've always been under the impression it's saved for cannonating drives...

They can't get rid of it. It's an established part of Blue Bomber canon!

What's can you honestly have to complain about when it comes to the fan cannon?
