Meh, not a surprise after Bell bought MTS. It's just a name and I'm sure most will continue to call it MTS Centre for a good while, anyway.

Bell is spending a lot of money on re branding MTS to BellMTS so I suspect they dont drop the MTS part anytime soon.

Bahahaha... I still can't believe that. Glad I left MTS back in 2014 (switched to Bell).

Vancouver/Edmonton share the same sponsor with Rogers Arena/Place. So think we can share a Centre/Place.

listen they can call it whatever they want I'll still refer to it as MTS center, I mean this is kind of ridiculous, it's like what if they changed the old arena's name? 

 

eventually I'll refer to it by it's new name, just not now

I'm not being paid to call it MTS so to me its the arena.

Because Bell paid a lot of money for MTS and is spending a lot of money re-branding to BellMTS.  MTS didnt buy the naming rights out of the goodness of their hearts - its advertising. 

MTS originally purchased the naming rights in 2003, calling the arena the MTS Centre. It was a 10-year deal at the time but the deal had been extended to 2021 with the option to extend to 2030.

So it's Bell until 2021 then who knows.

Do you not understand how corporate sponsorship works...?

Corporate names are always going to be lame, MTS Centre vs Bell MTS Place makes little difference to me.  Still better than Jobing.com arena or Gaylord Entertainment Centre.
