100%. and I'd personally take that any day vs. Sportsnet's coverage of Jets games,  which rivals that of national spelling bee commentary.

  • Really?  I'd be downright shocked

  • Classic losing streak thread...

Well it was the coach who determined that Pav was #3.

They  went with an unproven rookie & had no one behind him (other than Pavelic) as they found out Hutchinson was brutal. He had a decent stretch in the last few games of the year but hopefully he's not back next season. Debatable about Pavlec's real worth as a veteran. Chevy gambled & lost. He better fix the goaltending situation over the summer. Oh, forgot. It doesn't matter if he fixes it or not as he has a #jobforlife.

Don't worry, recreational pot will be legal soon so it won't really matter that much ;)

What else did Fleury tell you? You've obviously spoken to it

grow up lol

You're a wrestling fan eh. You like Adam Cole? His catchphrase works here.

Fleury wouldn't waive to come here. That's reality. Just cuz some old kook hack from Toronto says he was told if his sources are correct that the penguins maybe offered the Jets Fleury for a 2nd doesn't mean he's right besides now the Jets would be in Pittsburgh situation where u have to protect the old guy making to much money over the future.

This was never happening and likely isn't even true.

Old kook. Sorry. Missed you're appearance on tsn. Are you in high demand?

You always insult people rather then express a reasonable opinion. Are you so insecure you can't just discuss? You have to try and tear down?  Really it's getting old man.

You have no idea the reality of any Pens/Jets talk.

Mane my originally point was obviously some sarcasm about Fleury playing well. And extrapolating that had the jets got goaltending help on December they might be in the playoffs now.

But being condescending is easier than having a mature discussion.

We would of lost him or Helle in the expansion draft though...

Well that's the argument. But if (big if) Pens were willing to trade him for a 2nd round pick and Fleury was willing to come here (as he said he would when asked) AND you lose him in expansion you basically look at it as making the payoffs for a 2nd pick (taking into account making playoffs is no guarantee )

so even we did lose him it was still worth it. But you've still got the asset. So you can either trade him or Helle and if you get anything equal to a 2nd round pick you've broken even. You can also make a deal with Vegas.

Either way he's still an asset to do something with.

Even if you lose Fleury in expansion, it means you are keeping everyone else on the roster.

Would you give up a 2nd right now if it means we don't lose anyone else in the expansion draft?

So if Pittsburgh is going to convince Fleury to waive his NMC clause, why wouldn't they just trade him to LV or leave him exposed...

I doubt Fleury is interested in going to LV.

If he was waiving his NMC, he would want to go to a place that has a chance at competing and where he would be protected. Jets have a chance at competing sometime this decade but would not have protected him.

But I would be happy to trade give up a 2nd round pick to LV, instead of giving up a player.

Quite the compelling argument for a 32 year old goalie to sign with your franchise...

Decent goaltending should have us in the playoff hunt next season.

Decent goaltending would have got us in this year.  Next year, who knows?  We can't necessarily count on Scheifele putting up 80+ points, Laine putting up 35+ goals, Lowry scoring 15, Trouba having a career season, etc.  Morrissey had a fantastic rookie season but will he regress as a sophomore?  Wouldn't be the first time that happened.  My point is that teams don't develop on a linear upward slope.  We had an opportunity to be good this year, and blew it by totally bungling the goaltending situation.  Let's hope the opportunity comes again.

You can never know for sure but it's hard not to imagine Fleury coming here on December doesn't get the Jets in the playoffs. And then anything can happen.

If you protect Fleury does Vegas take Helle over a forward?  Would they take a pick to leave him?

It's all speculation unless you're lucky enough to know Fleury personally and know the details....
