Republican members led 'reconnaissance’ tours of US Capitol one day

According to North Jersey, newly-elected lawmaker Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.) revealed she personally witnessed Congressional members conducting "reconnaissance" tours through the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday, Jan. 5, just one day before an angry pro-Trump mob stormed the federal building to hinder lawmakers' efforts to certify the electoral college vote.

In a video on Facebook live, Sherill explained her reasons for voting in support of Democrats' House resolution requesting Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment which would lead to immediate removal from office for President Donald Trump.

Sherill went on to criticize her Republican colleagues who "abetted" Trump's repeated, dangerous attempts to overturn the presidential election. She also touched on Trump's rhetoric and influence which, subsequently, led to a violent mob storming the federal building.

At this point, in trying to get any kind of a "win" the Republican "leadership"  Trump, Pence, O'Connell along with the ole Tea baggers like Rand Paul.....are pretty busy at work.   Belittling, t

If nothing else, McConnell runs a pretty tight ship there.   This didn't leak out accidentally.   No denial, at all,  from him about the Times story, either........

Yeah, he is a political genius and everything he does or doesn't do is extremely calculated. He just gave the green light for a speedy removal trial without whipping vote and essentially- "vote your conscience."

Donald Trump endangered Mitch and there is also this:

Looking ahead to Inauguration, appears that US is now spending millions to protect GOP lawmakers from the GOP mobs

McConnell was already furious about Trump's antics, leading to the Georgia losses.......and relegating him to Minority Leader

I am glad I don't live in the USA. One side fixes elections and the other invokes riots. What a time we live in....but at least Trump or Biden didn't go to Costa Rica for Christmas.

Capitol riot fueled by deep network of GOP statehouse support
Stolen election lie had backing from party’s governing class at every level, extending far beyond Congress and the White House

Mentioned in an earlier post.... that it would be interesting to see how many Republicans were complicit, in aiding and supporting the riot.

The GOP - the self proclaimed party of patriots, "law and order and "personal responsibility"
Grotesque.

McConnell lost the senate himself by blocking stimulus.

It's quite telling that the four people in that pic that attended the rally are ALL flashing the white power symbol. Shocked/Not shocked.

It also lends credence that some of the terrorists knew where to go, Boebert will have to answer many questions when the inquiries start

Yup, but Trump ignoring stimulus negotiations, until the 600.00 deal was done, then jumping in with the demand for 2K, put Mitch and the Georgia candidates on the griddle

McConnell much like Trump cares only about himself and power and much like Trump history will not be kind to the Grim Reaper

More and more stories are going to come out on all the enablers......along with this President, Administration, who historically, will live in infamy....

Give him credit, he was one of the ones smart enough to fly under the radar while implementing the horrible things.

He still needs to be brought to justice for all that crap though.

Why apologize.   His GOP cohorts wearing the big iron, just had their rights trampled on.  Perhaps they should organize a protect march, or something.......

So “horns guy” who stormed the Capitol  and was quoted saying he wasn’t afraid of being arrested is now on a hunger strike since he can’t have his usual granola diet with white linen napkins, and his pillow isn’t fluffed for him by the turn down service maids (OK, not all of those claims may be accurate). But hearing this, it dawned on me that many of these keyboard warrior white supremacists who stormed the building  are now going to sharing jail cells with a majority of non-white inmates. Wonder how the Confederate flag and swastika tattoos and Camp Auschwitz t-shirts are going to over with that crowd? Action-consequence in real time.

The US Government training killing machines now those killing machines are coming for those that trained them, this is one of them a former Navy Seal who admits to being at the Capitol full of rage but now says that he is not a terrorist and not a traitor.

Sitting here listening to the House members take their 2 minutes, to speak on impeachment vote.

So, far a slew of Republican objectors, babbling on about how Trump did nothing wrong, how badly poor Trump was treated, by the Democrats, and the corrupt media, in the service of crazed socialists.  One guy kept drivelling on about Hollywood leftists and something Robert DeNiro said about Trump.

Jim Jordan and Matt Gaetz delivered some typical utter mendacious ranting and raving (big surprise)

The more "moderate" GOP types talking about not holding Trump responsible in the name of ....."unity" "moving on" "healing the nation" "preventing divisions" and other weaselly words

What a bad joke.
