Glad these are finally out.

 

From what I've heard, it's a pretty weak draft year. Pretty telling that there's a TE in the top 10 prospects.

 

Good to see a Manitoba boy in the top 20 though, especially an OL - there is definitely a shortage of them this year though.

I like the idea of taking the RB with Toronto's pick and hope he can replace Harris in a couple of years. Wishful thinking.

I really would like to get Junior Luke if possible. He's got some good potential, imo

I'll take your word for it. Canadian linemen seem to be safer than skill guys. I don't follow the CIS in the least bit. The last game I saw was the 2011 Vanier when I stumbled (literally) into BC place with free tickets. I'll keep my eyes open for the guys playing in the states.

Canadian college sports is changing up here.  Starting to see guys getting drafted into major north american sports leagues from CIS.  Way better direction then the cop out to DII that Simor Fraser did.  

if the season ended today would we be sitting at 3rd (TO pick) and 7th (ours) in the first round? I always get mixed up with the NHL and them altering pick placement based on playoff results

At least based on the past few drafts Walters has conducted we can assume whoever they target with these picks can come in and contribute almost immediately.

I forgot who I heard it from but they said this years was a little stronger than last years draft.

They are both from Montreal so it is quite likely.

DT Eli Ankou out of UCLA is a stud but he will probably get an NFL look.

Maybe it was just a weak OL class, I can't remember exactly what I heard.

Rashaun Simonise at 7 and not being the number 1 WR on the board is a joke.

Id love for us to sign anthony coombs in the off season. Would be nice to draft a legit high end canadian WR,

The irony of a weak draft is ,theoretically at least , there will be less interest from NFL teams making more borderline picks likely to attend CFL camps.

I would add that maybe we've been a little spoiled by the quality in recent drafts and  this group will look a whole lot better after the months leading up to the draft.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think he's eligible for the CFL draft until next year re: only Three years since high school not the reqd. four .

A WR and an OL would be nice but honestly think we can go BPA.

Might lose Chungh in the offseason and who knows if Couture will be ready.  Need a top OL for sure.  The cupboard is still thin there.
