Nichols is what I hopped Buck Pierce would have been, i see a lot of similarities in their personality/demeanor. Edit (added): I also think he is a good fit for the city, humble lunch-bucket type. If he can get us a cup he will be a legend in this city for the rest of his life.

i dont see him as elite in the Mitchell/Reilly sense as he does not have the physical abilities of those two, but he might be one of the toughest competitors i have seen in the CFL recently. He is a tough SOB with above average (but not elite) skill. He wont win MOPs or even be a West All-Star but im stoked he is our starter and believe he can win us a cup, granted Richie Hall gives him some support. He has surpassed my expectations and i think he will get better.

I have always been interested in the cap structure of the CFL and player salaries etc. In 5 minutes i put together a 46 man roster with a 10 man practice roster that costed out each position and backups. * = starting non-imports. For practice roster i included a 750$ allowance per week for all 10 practice roster players for the 18 week season. For the 2 non-dressers, i put them both at league minimum ($53,000) for the year. Be interested to see what other people put down for fun. This was a great procrastination game while i stare down project work i have to submit tomorrow . BTW, my salaries came up to $5,149,000. not just a matter of being better, but having a greater impact as a non-import in a certain position than a non-import in another potential position. I think the potential improvement of temple or knox over Hurl is not as great as the potential improvement of Poop/other import DL over Thomas/Butcher/Ekaitie. Im ok with Hurl as a starting MLB if our DL can dominate LOS like the swaggerville days.
