Two thought from this thread... Bruce Johnson... I was never quite sold on him... but I can't say I've focused on him all that much... the fact that we haven't really noticed him lead me to believe he was doing alright... Buck Pierce... not sure why so many people think he should be the guy to step in if MB is canned... Marcus Howell has much more coaching experience... people were calling for him to take over in 2013 when Crowton was stinking up the joint... I'm not sure if either guy is ready to be an OC but I'd be much more confident in Howell at this stage in their careers...

Like I've always said, the riders losing is nice consolation... but it certainly doesn't make me feel any better about the bombers season right now...

I read that Vaughan Martin is a Mtl draft pick and they still hold his rights... though he may still latch on to another NFL team...

You must be the only person on earth that's seen Yantz play against CFL players. You're making some massive assumptions. completely agree... you know who else can whip the ball around in practice... Brian Brohm... game situations are a completely different animal...

Same goes for Waggoner, thought he would have worked his way into the lineup by now if he is the stud everyone hoped for. Waggoner has dressed every game this year... he just hasn't taken any defensive reps (that I can recall)

the thing that confuses me is Littlejohn comes in off the street and gets into the game right away... Simmons is a CFL vet, he had a full week of practice and he "isn't ready yet" according to Bob Irving... seems odd to me...

Meanwhile Mtl looks to be making an impact running the ball and playing strong D... seems to be a pretty good formula...

Or to put it another way 27,000 or so is a pretty good average attendance for a mino league sports franchise and better than most other teams in the exact same league. east Final vs Hamilton was sold out. Check your facts kid. I apologize. East final was sold out. 2007 semi final vs Montreal was just over 22,000. As for this year's attendance, looking at the east side and end zones from the west side upper deck, the 27,000 average from this year looks quite inflated. In IGF the "look" of the crowd is typically a bad indicator... take a look around the concourse when the stadium looks empty...

Stamps could easily be 4-4 or 3-5 right now... margins are razor thin for a lot of teams this year...

Young January and Morley were both pretty darn quick and athletic... funny how we forget about those things after watching them in their decline... I remember watching that game and that was a pretty cool highlight pack to bring back the memories...

Hell.. Why stop there. We could have used our supplimental on Ted Laurent instead of Poblah and had Laurent instread of Waud.. b/c there's a huge difference between the two scenarios.... in my example, most would have agreed Waud was a better pick when the draft happened... I think his NFL potential may have been the biggest deterrent... In the 2011 supplemental draft Poblah and Laurent were both considered game changers... we needed a WR more and chose Poblah, which at the time, made sense... unfortunately for us Laurent, developed and Poblah didn't... I'm not saying it's time to write off Addison... he has plenty of time to work out... it would just be nice to draft a few "now" players instead of all projects...

If we finish 3rd in the West at... say 9-9... and we go into Calgary for the west SF... that's, surprisingly, not the scariest proposition... or even cross over and have to play in Toronto in the East SF....

You're probably right. That'll hopefully soften them up for the LDC and Banjo Bowl. I'm not sure what I prefer... a completely dejected but probably motivated 0-9 team... or a slightly more confident, less pressure-filled 1-8 team...

I don't think it's even a two team race.... despite their matching records, Hammy is miles ahead of Tor at this point...

Bomber still have a legitimate shot at 3rd in the West... or even third in the east... I don't see Mtl or Ott doing much down the stretch... I can realistically see the bomber going 5-5... optimistically 6-4... down the stretch... 8 or 9 wins will definitely be good enough for the playoffs this year...

The riders will beat the redblacks next week....
