I saw the Lawerence hit and I have no problem with it... if Hank hadn't jumped as he was throwing the contact point would have been exactly in the hip/waist area... the timing was fine... the Westerman hit was much worse... though likely unintentional... but he got a 15 yard penalty on the play and a max fine... he "did the time" so to speak...

Brady has always played on a good team with a pretty good offensive line. Plus he gets rid of the ball fast. Brady is a special case... so is Manning... he never gets hit hard cuz he just concedes and goes down when he knows he's about to get sacked... both players depend on good o-lines and quick release timing offenses... Unfortunately we will never see a QB with the talent level of Brady or Manning in the CFL...

What about a list of guys who we all think definitely should be back... here's what I think OL- Bryant, Chungh, Goossen QB - Willy RB - Marshall WR - Kolhert, Denmark (mostly cuz we need some vets back but realistically we could afford to replace every WR on this team) FB - Pointbriand, Normand (b/c he's a rookie) DL - Westerman, Thomas LB - Bass, Leggett, Randle, Waggoner DB - Adams, B. Johnson obviously I know we won't turn over that many players... but if anyone other than the above listed is gone... I'm ok with that... I probably missed a few key guys, feel free to weigh in...

Wouldn't mind seeing Davis play QB... I would also like to see some of the PR guys play... I have zero interest in seeing Brohm play ever again... we know what he is... a bad QB...

My take... Ottawa - I wouldn't be mad if they won... certainly bitter... Toronto - I won't be cheering for them... but don't care if they win Hamilton - they have the only thing remotely close to our non-grey cup streak... their last win was 1999... so I don't want them to win... Edmonton - I'll probably cheer for them all the way... this 3 week layoff they're about to have, I think, will be hazardous... Calgary - I'll cheer for them if they make the finals... BC - they'll get smoked by Calgary in round 1 anyway...

My thought on the BoD... I feel like the major difference with a private ownership vs public is accountability... as far as everything else goes, it's pretty much a wash... back to the thread title... Hadn't heard of Paul Jones... but after reading his profile he certainly has an impressive resume and would probably make a good GM.... I agree with Ducky (and many other around here)... I wanted John Murphy as GM in 2013... and I still want him now...

The problem with this list is we realistically don't know the answer to a lot of them.... sure we can guess... but it likely won't be accurate... Even though I don't know for sure, I have formed an opinion that is likely to be very accurate. I think he's been exposed as a terrible head coach but there's no need to embarrass the poor guy any further. He's had a very rough year. I am sure he has learned a lot these past two seasons. He's got one year left. Let's see if he can put it all together next year. What do you think? Can he? I agree... I'm no advocate for keeping O'Shea... for me the record 7-11 and now 6-12 (if we're lucky) is the only stat I care about... I'm not sure anyone can possibly be convinced this team is progressing... but there's big problems: who are the better alternatives?... is this a winning team with a new OC?... I just really don't know what to think about the team/organization as a whole right now...

You are confused. Rider Green never comes off. The fans stick with this team no matter what. Rumours of our demise are wishful thinking and nothing more. Even if no one goes to the game, there is nearly 30k tickets sold. Don't worry we'll be back You guys need a 2 decade run like we've had just to put you in your place. They had one in the 80s and 90s and remember how the team and support continued to thrive through it... oh wait...

Ottawa got the penalty on the play and Burris was unscathed... that's a lot more than we can say about the Adrian Tracy hit on Drew Willy... which was equally as bad, if not worse... leads the league in sacks... leads the league in fines... they sometimes go hand in hand...

Why? At least they won 2 Grey Cups since 2007. I feel the same way... as much as I hate the Riders... I would trade their last 10 years (including this year) with our last 10 years in a heartbeat...

The one rule I would like see changed is the rouge... not completely get rid of it but they should eliminate it after the 3 minute warning in the fourth quarter... nothing worse than a team winning when their kicker misses a FG or punts it through the end zone... If you go into the 3 minute warning in a tie game... you should have to score real points to win...

I only want to comment on two... First one... you're ageing yourself with this comment about shaving... I can just imagine when you see Waggonner, Newman or Shell... "get a haircut you hippies!" Second one... don't you think there might be a correlation between us releasing a player and him signing on an NFL squad?
