  1. Agreed, important to show all the clips. It is weird to see that one though where everyone is clapping and she isn’t though, and it is like that for a few seconds. Maybe she started late or finished early, who knows.
  2. True. And actual video showing a boat fall off the edge would be more persuasive than just hearing it. Even if that video was out of context.
  3. Point is that this is the clip the reporter is basing his statement on, and he’s not incorrect. Like so much of media, sound bites and spin can warp perspective to tailor a narrative to suit a skewed perspective and create confirmation bias.
  4. Well, here’s one video clip.
  5. Gordle Howe hat trick for Stanley
  6. Despite the heat they taken this year, Wheeler is on pace for 13G-52A-65P in 67 games as a 35 year old, and Scheifele in an off-year 32G-41A-73P in 76 games, and both had COVID. No, they are not defensive players, but they are paid to be scorers and at a point per game pace they aren’t as big a salary liability as some might think.
  7. And just like that shots are 7-6 Jets.
  8. Kolesar to the linesman after the fight with Stanley (if my lip reading skills are worth anything: ”Whoa, he’s a big guy”.
  9. Salary dump for the Avs to free up cap space for a run at Claude Giroux.

So what does Dawn McEwen’s retirement do to Mike, if anything?
  11. DeBrusk requires a $4.5 million qualifying offer next year minimum or he becomes a UFA. Given his career stats that would be an overpay. If Copp is too expensive at that rate, I‘d say no to DeBrusk. Crouse is an interesting target, and at $1.75 million qualifying offer would be cheaper. Is Arizona shopping him around? Thought they would keep him to build around or ask for more in return. They are not looking for a short term fix there, so unless they had a guaranteed contract in hand not sure they go after Copp. His concussion status will be a big factor.
  12. Post all relevant deadline deals and discussion here. And a live question for the group: Which would be the best and worst things the Jets could do: (a) make a trade to acquire a piece for a playoff push (b) abandon the playoff run now and trade off assets to build for the future (c) stand pat and use your own players as playoff rentals And if you think a trade should happen, who should they get/give away, AND more importantly, what does the trade look like. An answer like “trade Scheifele, doesn’t matter who for, just get rid of him” is weak and just stupid noise, let’s be serious about who leaves or comes in and how it would work with salary cap factored in.
  13. I will choose to nickname him “Royale with Cheese”.
  14. Looking forward to watching his progression this year.
  15. There you go.

Pretty remarkable feat for Gushue to win with a three man team for the playoff run. Aside from the extra throwing for the lead and second in altered roles, the sweeping game had to be revamped. Amazing performance. And for those dumping on McEwen, he isn’t “sent” by Manitoba, he earns his place by winning the Province. He still seems to freeze in the big moments and take strange risks at bad times, but remember that Gushue himself took 14 tries before he won his first Brier, and now he has 4 in the last 6 years.
  17. Must be like looking at a photo negative of yourself. Between the two of you, consider it balanced coverage.
  18. No news yet. Grant hasn’t signed with any other team yet either, so…….. And we bring in extra receivers to camp every year with the Hope one will surprise and stick. The turnover for returners and depth chart receivers seems high with this club, so concern is lower at this time. Again, positions that history has shown can be plugged more easily than others.
  19. It also proves that you don’t have stats to show how we were screwed with the “incompetent” kicking we suffered through. Mourtada did get better after his bad start, but his fate was sealed on this board after his first misses in his first game. People need to get past Medlock being gone. Sure our kicking game was weaker, BUT it did not cost us games like you suggest, and when the chips are down, Walters got it sorted out. Liegghio is the future and that has not changed despite his struggles hitting converts. Mourtada improved enough to keep around and deserve to fight it out at camp. And if they both crap the bed, we saw last year that there are options out there can can be airlifted in fairly quickly. Let’s just dial down the “sky is falling” rhetoric a bit, perhaps? It’s March, we are down a kick returner and starting receiver, dropping from 4 kickers to 3 on the roster is not the death blow here.
  20. All of them were our kickers when we won. Our record with Crapigna as our placekicker: 2-1. Games he actually cost us with his misses. Zero Record with Liegghio placekicking: 3-0. Games his kicking points won us the game. One. Record with Mourtada placekicking: 5-0. Games his kicking points won us the game. One. Record with Castillo placekicking: 1-2. (2-0 in playoffs). Games his kicking points won us the game. One. (One in playoffs) Games he actually cost us with his misses. One. (Zero in playoffs)
