An Arkansas police chief was forced to resign over the weekend after threatening Democrats on the right-wing social media site Parler. The posts, first reported by CNN, were confirmed on Saturday by the mayor of Marshall, Arkansas, according to The Kansas City Star. The police chief, Lang Holland, handed in his resignation the same day. “Death to all Marxist Democrats,” Holland posted, imploring readers to harass and assault Democrats. “Take no prisoners, leave no survivors!” He then posted a QAnon-linked meme about re-fighting the Revolutionary War. “The city of Marshall strongly condemns the actions of Mr. Holland in his posts to social media,” Marshall mayor Kevin Elliott said. “The Marshall community does not in any way support or condone bullying or threats of violence to anyone of any political persuasion! We condemn it!”

  3. We are all one heartbeat away from eternity, and the true measure of our lives is not in years but in the joy we bring into the lives of others.
  4. Howie was way into sudden death overtime, anyways.
  5. Apparently Trump has let it be known that he will agree to a peaceful transfer of power "under some conditions". Probably with a pardon for all offences, which would be a travesty, even if he is forced to allocute to his crimes. And a Secret Service agent was asked by a reporter if the Service would defend Trump should he refuse to leave. The agent responded, "We know how to deal with squatters".

Very bad news. This shows that the recent spate of infections and deaths are not an aberration, but a trend that is approaching a flashpoint. The Tories' response is too little and way too late.
  7. As a wonderful ironic postscript to the GOP campaign, the GOP reserved the Four Seasons in Philadelphia for their victory celebration, but when they showed up at the Four Seasons Hotel, they found out that they had reseved space at "Four Seasons Landscaping" in Philadelphia, owned by a black businessman.

So long as lawyers like John Yoo (who cobbled together "legal" justification for torture) are around and the GOP has money to fund them, the charade will go on. I hope Trump emerges from under his rock and goes on a public hissy-fit.
  9. Not as far as Trump and his zombie followers are concerned. They will try to drag this out as long as possible to wrest concessions from the Democrats.
  10. I would think the real reason is to raise money for the re-election organization which he can funnel to himself.
  11. Sounds like a Keystone Kops routine. Can you imagine what would happen if the US actually get into a real war?
  12. Americans got to see the real Donald Trump for the past four years and it still did not deter his base whatsoever.
  13. Dobson and Jackson are big enough to burn diesel. Lord, I am missing my CFL. We ought to be deep in CFL playoff bickering by now.
  14. It started out as Faux News as an arm of the GOP, but it has become the GOP as an extension of Faux News.
  15. Trump saw that running for the GOP nomination would boost his brand and his failing, debt-ridden empire and forestall yet another bankruptcy. His sycophants saw him as an antidote for the unbearably nice Obama years when that uppity coloured man stained the American dream. It took a perfect storm of racism, sexism ihnorance and religious bigotry to install him as president. The 1% who supported him have been paid back handsomely in tax cuts and government handouts.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/steve-bannons-lawyers-defect-after-batshit-call-for-fauci-beheading?ref=home Steve Bannon’s Lawyers Defect After Batshit Call for Fauci Beheading Published Nov. 06, 2020 2:06PM ET Steve Bannon’s lawyers have finally had enough. One day after the former Trump aide dreamed about putting Dr. Anthony Fauci and FBI Director Christopher Wray’s heads on pikes—like the old times—his legal team announced they’re withdrawing from his border-wall scam case. “Mr. Bannon is in the process of retaining new counsel, and Quinn Emanuel intends to move to withdraw,” William Burck, Bannon’s litigator at the white-shoe law firm, said in a filing. “As a result, Mr. Bannon respectfully requests that the status conference in this matter be adjourned for three weeks so that he may formally retain new counsel.” Burck didn’t elaborate on the move, but it comes after Bannon called for the beheadings on his “War Room” podcast. “I’d actually like to go back to the old times of Tudor England. I’d put the heads on pikes, right? I’d put them at the two corners of the White House as a warning to federal bureaucrats,” he said.

Apparently Trump has decided to anoint his daughter Ivanka as the heir-apparent to the Trump political future. Gotta make Eric and Don Jr. feel all warm and fuzzy.
  19. In all likelihood, this is just another empty threat by Trump, lashing out at anyone and anything that was not sufficiently supine or rabidly enthusiastic enough in his opinion. Trump is going to be so involved in defending himself and his interests in the courts that he will not have either the time or money for anything else.
  20. Alabama cop calls for the murder of Biden voters: 'Put a bullet in their skull for treason' In the town of Flomation, Alabama, a far-right police captain stepped down following an outcry over a social media post that called for the murder of Joe Biden supporters. https://www.alternet.org/2020/11/alabama-police-captain-resigns-following-outcry-over-facebook-post-calling-for-violence-against-biden-supporters/ (I have little doubt that he will be re-elected. This is a prime example of America's mindset among right-wingers.)
  21. Alleged QAnon Goons With AR-15s Arrested Near Vote Center Police said the two men face firearms charges for carrying weapons without valid gun permits. Updated Nov. 06, 2020 12:04PM ET / Published Nov. 06, 2020 4:57AM ET Philadelphia police arrested two men on firearms charges Thursday night after reportedly receiving a tip that they were headed to the city’s convention center—where the swing state’s votes are still being counted—to “straighten things out.”

Anyone expecting the GOP/Qanon/white supremacist bloc to pivot and throw their arms around Biden will be very disappointed. There is a bedrock of these miscreants and if Trump's conduct and that of his administration has not revulsed them over the past four years, it simply will not happen. If Biden and the Democrats spin their wheels trying to placate this lot, they will betray the hopes of those who wanted someone/something better than Trump and doom themselves. The more things change, the more they remain the same, and cultures are very slow to change. Each generation of haters infects the suceeding generation. Biden and the Democrats would be far better served to aggressively pursue and agenda of healthcare, green energy and voter empowerment.
