fan4life got a reaction from Bigblue204 in CFL Player Award predictionsIf Harris has contract incentives for being most outstanding Canadian, I hope the organization steps up and pays that incentive regardless. Players around the league will know we support our players.

fan4life got a reaction from Fred C Dobbs in CFL Player Award predictionsWhen Banks was suspended for 2 games in 2016, he became the East nominee for Special Teams Player of the Year (losing to Medlock). Harris won't get his chance because 3 local media members made up their own rules. He violated a rule which called for a two game suspension - nothing more and nothing less. He was eligible to play in 16 games and is unquestionably the most outstanding Canadian in the CFL this year.

fan4life got a reaction from wbbfan in NFL Coming to Winnipeg for Preseason GameI doubt this to be true. Based on how few tickets sold in other sections, it looks like they just aren't available for sale.

fan4life got a reaction from Floyd in Kyle WaltersZero success as positional coach. Zero success as assistant GM. Zero success as GM. Hired McManus and Goveia to more senior roles than previous roles with very limited success. He should go before O'Shea. Nice call on Waggoner. Those who can't recruit sign free agents. A good interview but not someone that delivers. Hard to believe this team wins before Labour Day.

fan4life got a reaction from Mark F in This Day In 2009I happened to be in BC on business and was at this game. I was row 1 and was shaking hands with Fred Reid when he was announced as the Gladiator on TSN. Then went to shark club and some of the players came in as it was the lead in to their bye week. We actually showed Obby the rushing stats on a phone and he had no idea just how big the rushing yards were. The next morning at the airport I was in line behind Mike Kelly going through security. Great memories!

fan4life reacted to do or die in Odds and Sods - Game 5 - Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Edmonton EskimoesHope springs eternal....Bell fumbles early.....
...but Blue go 2 and out.... then miss FG....
Methinks, that was some sort of omen....
Bomber D looking good...in first half
Westerman really getting into the groove....
Adams getting some respect on the corner....
Hurl still questionable as MLB...
Both teams doing it on D, in the rain....4-3 at the half
Blue O looking pretty predictable....can't handle pressure..
As soon as run works....we go away from it....
Bombers not handing 4 man rush....or for that matter 3...
Tyler and Picard...having their struggles
40 minute mark...the ole fatal tipping point....
....Willy sandwiched...leaves with knee injury.....
As soon as the Willy went down....Bomber went flaccid....
The rain then stopped.... so did our team....
...Drew hit low...league apology coming, after the fact...
Bombers deal with the adversity...in the usual manner...
...allowing a long punt return, followed by TD....
Brohn, to the surprise of everybody comes in.....
..and promptly tosses a pick, albeit, with blown PI call....
James Franklin promptly throws a TD pass to Bowman....
Richards then plays trained seal with a pass....for another pick..
....setting up another easy Franklin TD pass
Bell eludes 3 Bomber tackles for 70 yards....
...setting up, you guessed it, yet another Franklin TD pass...
Brohm's TD/INT ratio? now 0-5.......
Assume that Marve is still hurt....or there will be blood....
28 straight points for Edmonton, after Willy down....
Give up 3 TD passes to the 3rd string guy...in less than a half...
Discipline problem again...plethora of dumb penalties....
Refs were pretty bad....but Bombers lost on merit....
Another great Western road swing.....
Blow one game....get blown out, in the other.....
Tackling on D, fell off in 2nd half....
Another key special team breakdown, then INTs...
...giving Esks a short field for easy scores....
Blue tired of the beat downs, in Edmonton?......guess not.
From MOS, on down....having real doubts about coaching....'
Team lacks jam, and may simply be toast....
DOD lacks patience, right now.. and may simply be burnt....

fan4life got a reaction from DR. CFL in Jim Bell out as Bombers COOI think some were involved but certainly not all. I also don't think it was a restructuring at all. Wade and Jim disagreed and one had to go. Clearly Wade wouldn't be the one going. All Directors should want to know the real story.

fan4life got a reaction from Fred C Dobbs in Jim Bell out as Bombers COOI really hope certain members of the BOD sit down with Jim for an effective exit interview. When the person that has been their lead financial person is shown the door and the organization has significant debt repayments coming, it should set off some alarm bells. Unfortunately the City doesn't have an appointed person so the City is shut out of the exit interview process. I would expect Vince Barletta and Debbie Metcalfe from the Board to have very detailed discussions with Jim on his way out the door. During a 3-13 season, the previous off field management team grew revenues from $16.7M to $24.2M last year. That management team is all gone now. Yes the new stadium was the driving factor but they did grow corporate revenues in a big way. I doubt very much that Jim was shown the door to save a salary. I think it would have far more to do with future planning and direction inclusive of both future revenue and cost considerations. We have a General Manager, Grey Cup and Vice-President of Entertainment and Events on our senior executive but no other VPs. It looks like Wade has actually been in his position longer than any other member of the Senior Executive. Its clearly Wade's show and for all of us I wish him great success. Best of Luck to Jim and thanks for your dedication and loyalty to the Football Club over some tumultuous times.

fan4life got a reaction from Fraser in Bombers Looking to Trade Korey BanksI would think he needs to be here to force them to release him. He says I'm here ready to practice and then they either have to pay him to be on IR or release him. They can't suspend him because he's disgruntled. They can suspend him if he's sitting at home and not participating.

fan4life got a reaction from DR. CFL in Bombers Reject Rabb for Board of DirectorsGiven that 3 of the past 4 Chairs (Bulbuck, Watchorn, Dunn) all worked together at Federal Industries in the late 1980's, I would say it qualifies as an old boys club. Although Ms. Strath was the first director appointed under the public nomination process, the news release referenced her experience in event management and marketing despite these items not being part of the specific criteria established by the Board. I think she's fully capable but I think she was chosen to assist in Grey Cup Festival preparations more than provide governance.
It worries me that the Bombers had an unexpectedly large $1.2M transit cost last year and that they haven't released 2013 financial results yet. In 2010 and 2011, results were released early April and last year it was April 23.
IGF is hosting a major event next week with the vast majority of sections only having single tickets available at this point. Will they have secured a transit discount in time or will they repeat last year's errors already? I rode park and ride many times last year and would gladly pay for this service. A P7 seat last year was only $17.80 and they were chipping in $11 for my transportation. Makes me feel guilty but at least I supported the concessions and Bomber Store.
If there's bad news to report, let's get it out of the way so that we can start focusing on the draft and generate a positive buzz to support season ticket sales. I sense the rejection of Rabb and the transit news are the tip of the iceberg and that more bad news is coming though.
