WildPath reacted to wbbfan in 2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Threadyep.

About time. Sounds like the cfl put their foot down and are holding the ALs responsible to the standard held across the league.

WildPath reacted to wbbfan in 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season ThreadBa moved to S, secondary gelled, D got healthy and hot at just the right time. A lot changed with the D from strevys starts to late.
The ol also came together, Lawler stepped up as well.
Zach gave us more than his production in 19 though. That famous run around toss up td to Darvin adams changed every thing. We went from a scrappy tough ground n pound team to a team that could make any play and win any way. A grey cup win went from a pipe dream to a very real possibility.
For my money, that is one of the greatest moments in bomber history.
But you are right, the only thing that matters with respect to all this is brown vs Zach last year forward.

WildPath reacted to Fatty Liver in 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season ThreadMOS relied on trickery a lot more before the team started to get good around 2017, after that he dropped the tricks and beat them with better football. If I'm not mistaken he acted as his own STC for the first few years, where a lot of the trick plays were deployed.

WildPath reacted to Booch in 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season ThreadComplacent...in many ways...and the success...or lack there of due to it when all said and done of late is apparent...time for Osh to get back to how he used to do things to a certain extent....he used to piss fans and other teams off before with is keen knowledge on rules and ways to exploit them....why the change?...

WildPath reacted to wbbfan in 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season ThreadI wanna say 2018 maybe early 2019 was the last time we saw that kind of stuff from mos. He’s gotten real conservative with the gc rings.

WildPath reacted to bigg jay in 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season ThreadMOS used to be great at finding those little loopholes but it's been a long time since we've seen that.

WildPath reacted to johnzo in 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season ThreadIt's training camp, even the veterans need to knock off the rust. But if you're still doing this in week 2 or 3...

WildPath reacted to wbbfan in 2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season ThreadI love the idea and we usually get some thing similar but a bit more fluffy from Tait here.
If the league put it self out there more and gave fans all the stuff they don’t want to share, they would create a huge vacuum for the target demographic.
I know no team would want to be that open, but if they want to break the norm it will take great discomfort. I’m not talking about teams bad mouthing players they don’t like, but being open about what they do like about who they like. Competitively, it comes to pass fairly quickly after the draft that each team knows who the other teams liked. And it doesn’t really matter at that point any way.
-
WildPath reacted to wbbfan in 2024/2025 Blue Bombers Off-Season ThreadIt is. I don’t think it’d be financially viable to have these guys playing all over. I think it’d have to atleast start out as a south Ontario to qubec thing. With in a 4 hour ish drive radius you have a ton of infrastructure.
It you send kids there who aren’t gonna be in the cfl, give them a chance to make it and 25-35k, you’ll scoop up a huge portion of the guys who fall out of the league.
I might add globals as well. Say a limit of 5 globals and 5 Americans per team.

WildPath got a reaction from HardCoreBlue in Your *HATE* goes in hereI don't come around these parts as frequently since what went down with the political posts, but I appreciate the kind words.
I've ruined a few floor mats trying to help people get out quickly, but it can be a good quick fix. One time my buddy plowed a friend's brand new truck deep into a ditch after a hockey tournament in Lynn Lake. Not even the ol' floor mat trick would have helped in that deep snow. Just a lot of digging and pushing. Fortunately we had a whole line of hockey players in the truck to help with the pushing.

WildPath reacted to HardCoreBlue in Your *HATE* goes in hereI'm replying to a 2023 post, outstanding. I've always enjoyed WildPath's posts, wish they would post more often. 🙂
Here's tip we got if you're ever stuck in snow that has been helped us help out a many people along our travels. Take our your floor mats in your vehicle and put them under the tires. It gives the tires grip and most times viola you're unstuck.
So simple yet so brilliant!

WildPath reacted to Mark H. in 2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season ThreadAs long has he puts his hat on straight - and doesn't lean forward the entire game

WildPath reacted to Mike in 111th Grey Cup- Argos vs Bombers GDTI agree that one side of the ball definitely sank us, but I think there was a very obvious gap in our D all day too. Nick Taylor playing significant reps and our gameplan being so passive allowed Toronto free rein in that 7-12 yard middle of the field all night long. Certain guys on D came to play but the middle of that lineup was horrendous from interior DL back to safety.

WildPath reacted to Deiter Fan in 111th Grey Cup- Argos vs Bombers GDTIt's a shame the 3 cup losses overshadow what has been the best 5 years of football this organization has delivered in decades.
Yeah it sucks losing the big one but I've had loads of fun/enjoyment watching this team play the last 5-6 years.
Changes obviously need to be made but I'll be damned if I'm gonna let this loss ruin what was a great come back season for another division title and the overwhelming success we've enjoyed over the last several years.
As someone old enough to remember the entire length of the drought (and no cup for Deiter) the last 5 years have been like a dream.
Hopefully the org will make the needed changes to put us over the hump next year and we take it all at home.

WildPath reacted to wbbfan in 111th Grey Cup- Argos vs Bombers GDTWe were averaging 10 yards per carry before the blow out. It’s not stacked box. We didn’t play action. We didn’t struggle to run at all. We just didn’t run.
-
WildPath reacted to Booch in 111th Grey Cup- Argos vs Bombers GDT3 yrs running...outschemed...out matched roster wise...out coached...guys didn't execute some stuff...but the coaches didn't put them in position to succeeed...or adjust...you obviously never played but coaching killed us...when we win it's a collective effort of being prepared and coached up to succeed...3 yrs straight...we didn't get that...some yrs it was roster..and we had a poor pr all yr and with injuries going into this...had no guys worth spit to put in...Samson...didn't see field while our great Thomas got his ass handed to him all game..that's just one example
-
WildPath reacted to wbbfan in 111th Grey Cup- Argos vs Bombers GDTNope. Nice straw man, false equivalency and ad hominem though.

WildPath reacted to Piggy 1 in 111th Grey Cup- Argos vs Bombers GDTWanna thank you ,Bluto for staying classy. Wish some on here would take note. Argos are full marks for the victory.

The biggest gripe I have with Buck is how he miss managed Streveler. Because of how predictable his package was it’s no surprise our offense actually got better once he went down. So many drives stalling because they wouldn’t throw in a wrinkle and let him throw on second and short.

WildPath reacted to Booch in GREY CUP ThreadAnd courage...and willingness to sacrifice yourself.. Grant runs hard...isn't afraid of contact and rarely gets knocked down on initial contact

WildPath reacted to Bigblue204 in GREY CUP ThreadSomeone made chadkelly.ca link to a Ted talk on how to stop sexual harassment. That's just clever

WildPath reacted to GCn20 in GREY CUP ThreadCannot say enough how big of a loss Lawson was to our DL this year. I hope he is ready to go next year. Really odd but a lot of our concerns this year at many positions were because we lost some real under the radar guys for long stretches. Just a crap start to the season injury wise, took us a while to polish up a few gems, and now we are back to the team we have grown accustomed to the past several years. I know early things looked bleak, and I just never feared we wouldnt be in this Grey Cup because, at least to me, you could really see the potential of a lot of the new guys and that we just needed to let them get their feet under them. Just a really spot on year of recruitment, drafting, and fly under the radar FA signings by our GM and scouts. Where are we this year if Wilson, Wheatfall, Ayers, Bonds etc. were not in camp. This may turn out to be one of those years we look back on and say wow....look at the guys we brought in 2024. Even the Nick Taylor signing to cap the year is looking really good, or at least a lot better than most would have thought.

WildPath reacted to Booch in GREY CUP ThreadI got a very good access to who's hurt..who's not etc from training with many...but you are correct in at times we not privy to stuff...but in this instance I know Cole is good..MCI is good...Woli could play but he been Inactive too long so just not ready...adams is good...Woods would have been liability
Agree on Wallace...Allstar in making
-
WildPath reacted to Noeller in GREY CUP ThreadWell..... Since you asked:
-Rewatch the 84, 88, 90, 19 and 21 GCs
-Wear some kind of Bombers gear every day of GC week
-Read every piece of content you can find online about the team this week
-Soak up all the attention on the team because the offseason is brutally long
-Pray, in a sort of ironic way...
-Make sure you have plenty of beer from Manitoba breweries
-Make sure you have plenty of whiskey made in Manitoba (both Crown Royal and "New Make")
-Let the wife get her appie-making on....
-On gameday, start drinking at breakfast
-CJOB pregame from start to finish
Let's. *******. Go.
