They were terrible in the 1st quarter, but started to get better in the 2nd and after half time and the backups were in and the D played surprisingly well considering.

I agree the Nichols TD was not garbage time. We were down by 8 with 7mins left after that. In the CFL, 16 points down with almost 10 mins left if plenty of time. Our D gave a us a chance to win by hanging tough for most of the 2nd half. It's a credit to Hall for changing on the fly.
