  1. If the Bombers want to bring back McGuire I'm OK with that but it would be monumentally risky not to try upgrade at that position. He's a 3rd year guy, we should bring in a vet to either push him or unseat him at backup.
  2. Not the same. We didn't look at Paredes at all really. We have a season worth of evaluation on Liegghio. Plus his leg strength is questionable and that is not likely to change. Reminds me a lot of Justin Palardy who is a far more apt comparable imo.
  3. Looking at the list of FA QBs around the league, I don't see McGuire getting lured away by anyone really. That doesn't mean someone might not sign him to sit on a PR or something but realistically whatever contract we offer him will likely be as good as it gets....and I don't expect we will offer him much.
  4. Then you airlift someone in....or sign Liegghio.
  5. Castillo does punt...and actually is a pretty good punter. I just don't get a strong sense that releasing Liegghio, or any kicker for that matter, would come back and bite us hard.
  6. I wouldn't if we get Castillo back on a multi year. Hate to be brutally honest but it's not like he's got a power house leg that we're just waiting on.
  7. I like the term but my problem is when to use it. I mean realistically anything beyond 10 yards is a hail mary for Cody. Oh...my bad.
  8. You left out Collaros. Whether we like it or not he's a pending FA.
  9. They are not really melting down. I mean really...look at their roster....where are the all stars? Nope. They are sticking their fingers in their ears and suggesting they were the only team that suffered injuries this year while ignoring the fact their GM did nothing to fix that. I mean really....some of their injuries probably benefitted them. You look at Freddie Bishop and Lokombo's injuries in pre-season and you look at their replacements and it is almost a given they would not have played as well. Would Woodard have gotten much of a chance? I doubt it. Would Teitz have had his breakout season if Lokombo is in the lineup? Maybe not. Bottom line O'Day sucked this year. He let most of his OL walk away just prior to TC, he did nothing all season to replace Larry Dean who went down 1st of TC, and it wasn't until Duke got overpaid late in the season. that he addressed a receiving corps that was pretty brutal all season. Riderfan apologists saying there is no way JOD could have known Labatte and the other OL would do that, I say BS. Walters would have known because he was in his team's ear making sure they were coming. Especially the OL....just brutal GMing. You gotta know by FA who is staying and who is leaving. His OL retention has been absolute garbage and yes a lot of that is the team's fault. It has to be.
  10. I agree. He seemed to struggle with basic execution in that game. His accuracy was poor, and his reads were just as bad. I expect a first time starter to have happy feet and make some bad decisions/turnovers...that's a given. However, a guy with 2 years experience should have been able to come into the game and look decent in the short game at least. In my opinion, he folded under the Friday Night Lights and that is not a great characteristic to have in a player and it is not easy to coach that out of them.
  11. Pretty debatable that it helped them win a championship too, as Alex Hall was pretty much a bust when he went there.,
  12. In my experience returners on KOs are taught to never let a ball get behind them unless there is zero chance of catching it. It's rare air for a KO to go out the back of the end zone though so that's probably why.
  13. Wouldn't be gold if it wasn't gin soaked.
  14. NCB was Tuscaloosa I am pretty sure. Just populated the forum with several accounts so he could talk to himself. I would go back occasionally just to read his insane babbling.
  15. He never stopped. Remained as the sole member of OB until Colin invoked the mercy rule and pulled the plug on him. He has popped up occasionally on TEP and gets chased out pretty quick.
  16. Yes, but now the senseless death of an onion, the environmental disaster that is sour cream, and the carbohydrate diabetes machine potato offends people so to be PC you must look guilty when you eat them. Well, at least he had a thick skin and didn't run to try get mod help whenever someone disagreed with him like a certain Gbill character.
  17. I guess you can't pick your wife's friends, I know I've tried. Jebus it amazes me that 2 sons of Rider fans have learned to spell and use the computer competently on the same forum. The odds on that have to be astronomical.
  18. You can't choose your mother but you can choose your friends you know.
  19. I remember that well. That is right around the same time we put Nichols in for an injured Willy and despite the new nasty on the OL there was debate about whether it was Nichols "quick release" or the new OL that led to the improvement. I think the answer has become very clear in retrospect.
  20. If you are born outside Canada and your Canadian birth parents have never resided in Canada prior to your 18th birthday you are still eligible but must apply for Canadian citizenship. Just a formality but it is not automatic. You do not carry citizenship by birthright. You carry citizenship by birthright and residency or by application upon planned residency. Cody Fajardo is a young Kevin Glenn.
  21. Do you mean the play where the nose of the football touching the ground knocked him out cold?
  22. Yes, there is that as well. However, hopefully the flight restrictions will be gone by then. From a sentimental stand point I suppose. The sitting on the bench most of the season was probably not the best way to convince him to extend.
  23. I am aware of that but I thought I had read that he had actually renounced his Canadian citizenship upon gaining US citizenship, I could be wrong though.
  24. All I meant was that if he gets a stupid offer we can't match. Of course, I want Kyle to move heaven and earth to keep him here. Are you sure he is a Canadian citizen? I am not sure he is. One does not have to be to be considered a NAT.
