Love watching the token right winger on CNN twist the truth and out and out lie. Anyway, theres this: Washington (CNN)The FBI has information that indicates associates of President Donald Trump communicated with suspected Russian operatives to possibly coordinate the release of information damaging to Hillary Clinton's campaign, US officials told CNN.- US Politics

EI premiums rise. Increase in tax on booze. GST applies to Uber. Ending Canada Savings Bonds.- Manitoba Moose
There were people very low on Morrissey last season players develop at different paces. Could be a steal. Nice to have some more kids to follow on the farm- US Politics

What a clown show. But these clowns are being strategic. It's all part of their plan- Manitoba Moose
Green has lots of upside. His prospect reports are all really good. Be nice if he ends up a good NHL player.- RethinkIng Paul Maurice....
if Im a goalie like Darling or even Bishop I'd consider Winnipeg. For one thing, I'd bet Winnipeg is willing to pay. Secondly, not only are you as good as anywhere getting the chance to be the starter but the talent on the team has an opportunity to flip the switch and be successful. Plus, by all accounts the management and ownership have a reputation as a first rate organization as far as how they treat the players. We'd be in on the conversations with those guys, I'd think. I'd still love it to be Darling. Just imagine how annoying those headlines would become. "Chevy Signs a Darling" "Darling Deal" "Darling Game By Darling" "Scott Not So Darling In Jets Loss" "Scott Looks Darling In Jets Jersey". Ugh- True North Square
I understand why some dont like the idea of grants to rich people. But its incentives to build something that is for the benefit of all. Sure, True North get richer but we still get the development. It spurs other development. It creates jobs. It creates new taxes.- RethinkIng Paul Maurice....
The idea that players hate certain cities is a myth I think. Winning is the most important thing. Being treated well and being paid are probably up there too. Teams that win will have success signing players (like Edmonton). But if all things are equal there plenty of teams that get beat by other teams for a variety of reasons. Getting into bidding wars isnt wise anyway. We've signed free agent players, not the elite who have 20+ teams making offers. But we've signed them. And we've re-signed star players who could go to UFA and go anywhere.- Manitoba Moose
I think thats to take a look at him without burning anything.- Manitoba Moose
By the way, here is the Elite Prospects summary of Luke Green: Right Handed 6'0", 187 lbs An excellent offensive defenceman whose killer instincts in the offensive zone allow him to materialize scoring chances. Very shifty skater who is highly mobile. Good puckhandling ability and puck control; makes quick decisions with the puck in traffic and under pressure. Reliable defensively, but is much more effective when utilizing his offensive tools at the other end of the ice. All-in-all, a smart, smooth-skating defenceman who can play in most situations and excel in an offensive position. (Curtis Joe, EP 2015) Also, Jets got him falling, in the 3rd round. Early on he was a potential first round pick and mock drafts had him mid 2nd round.- Manitoba Moose
Here's the problem as I understand it. If they sign Poolman and he plays a couple of games, they've burned a year of his ELC. Maybe thats part of the negotiations in signing these players, is they effectively get one less ELC year (one year closer to cashing in).- Around The NHL 2016/2017
Well I'd simply say the fact they've gone for several Games would indicate there is a substantial benefit.- Around The NHL 2016/2017
Its widely considered a big deal to showcase the NHL in China since China is an untapped market. They do have a KHL team though. Everyone wants to break into China because of its massive population. As the featured event of the Winter Olympics, the NHL gets major coverage of its players on every network around the clock. Its a fantastic marketing thing for little to no cost to the NHL, aside from shutting down their league for a couple of weeks and taking the chance of injury de-railing one of the member teams. I cant tell you about direct benefit or if there is even real evidence of that. But I can tell you its pretty tremendous for those two weeks and that has to benefit the NHL. I know the NHL loves it when the time zone works out better to showcase the games live. And they want to be in China. So if Im the Olympics I make them commit to all the Olympics, not just the ones that have a greater benefit to the NHL. Clearly its a benefit to the Olympics (and their broadcast deals).- US Politics
Here's a good editorial about the science of lying and how its at work within the Trump admin, specifically Spicer who claims he has never told a lie (when he does so routinely as part of his job): http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/22/opinions/spicer-problem-with-truth-robbins/index.html- Random News Items
Happy 86th birthday to great Canadian William Shatner- US Politics
Im not sure about Obamacare. Its certainly relevant though. Oh look, Spicer wont answer if there are agents of foreign governments working within the admin. Anyway, Obamacare... We all know know how this will go. Trump's last ditch slight of hand will be a military strike. His people already invent false terrorist attacks to push their agenda. Whats even better than a fake attack is a real one... Trump makes all the crazy conspiracy rumors about W seem plausible.- Upcoming Movies
No but Wikipedia says he retired from screen acting in 2003 and just does voice work. So I'd have used archival footage or CGI and let him voice it. Probably expensive for the role but it would have added to the whole vision. Same with using Bill Paxton's likeness in the flashback to T1, would have been great.- US Politics
Yup. And all their demands that Hilary be thrown in jail and how can a person be president when they are under investigation etc is coming home to roost. Oh and remember when Spicer lied about Manafort's involvement with the campaign? Here's why he lied: when the indictments come, how many will take bullets for Donald?- Upcoming Movies
I thought Genisys had potential. Cameron was very complimentary about it too. It was a cool idea, going back to eras we've seen. But I dont think they took full advantage of that. For example, they really needed Robert Patrick's likeness. And making John bad was stupid. Plus they never explained why they kept sending more advanced Terminators to different points if they could send them to any time. Send Robert Patrick to T1's era and its over. Plus the casting was awful. Kyle Reese was nothing like the original. Sarah should have been more like T2 Sarah than T1. How could they not include the shrink from the first three? They were on the right track but just missed the heart of it.- Game 74 : 9 Games Left @ Kings
Its to be the 13th forward and I believe its an emergency call up. Thats why its not Connor or someone like that because they arent expected to play but Jets would be in trouble if someone got hurt.- Upcoming Movies
Franchise is worth too much to not follow up. If Cameron has the rights, why not use them? Especially while Arnold is still able to be apart of it.- US Politics
Is trumps wife involved in a business that requires her to live apart from him? Doesn't she stay at Trump Tower while Trump splits between White House and Florida? Weird - US Politics
