I know the Grey Cup is rarely won in free agency, but somewhere between "yawn" and "full BC circa 2024" would have been nice. I think in a Grey Cup year we all expected at least a small splash.

We not winning the cup last few yrs had nothing to do with the players...tho the injured ones we tried to play with didn't help...or the lack of depth in key spots...but that all points to the reason we lost.

No one builds a successful team through free agency. You use free agency to bring in a couple pieces and build your team through other means. 
This team didn't win all those games the past 5 years by accident.

Given how Collaros finished last year, is anyone surprised at this?  
 
There was a large group of us who thought we should have went with the big move and kept the younger, cheaper, and better Brown as the starter. 
 
Sadly, Strev isn’t a full time starting QB. We just have to hope Collaros can play better and has one last hurrah in him.

Collaros and Schoen combined to make what should have been an easy touchdown a near pick six on second down. 
 
If Schoen comes back to the ball, we’re on the 1. If Collaros throws a decent ball, it’s a touchdown. Sigh…

Yep Brown would be in the same situation - however has the mobility to get out of those situations or could be more effective if the team were to utilize a moving pocket to reduce the effectiveness of a pass rush.
 
I won't chirp Zach (even if the line wasn't an issue) - Two Grey Cups after the drought we had, but given his age and Brown's age, plus the promise Brown showed at various points, Brown should have been kept, even if it meant letting Zach go in the off-season.

Nope, that’s what ruined the Dave Ritchie bombers. He was a great bomber, but sadly a logical guy to move on from.

If that is the case, I wish we had kept Dru and let Collaros go. But I know that was never going to happen; just my wish. I love all ZC has done for the team, but with his age and salary, Brown may have been good for the long-term strength of the QB positions. 

Love Strev and happy to have him back. Hopefully we can lock Schoen in as well.

I swear you have the wildest takes, Colin. What are you going on about? Our backup QB who hasn’t proven he can be a starter carries more value than either the best RB or WR in the league?
