Other than Keeping, who are these "old, hopefully still gas in the tank" guys I keep hearing we signed? 28 yo Harris? 30 yo Shologan? 30 yo Dressler? 32 yo KICKER Medlock? Considering all but Cummings signed 2+ yrs, I viewed the signings as a win now and for the future. Curious how others are seeing it differently?

Perreault's a gem. Love the way the guy plays. Only concern I'd have is long-term, can he stay healthy consistently? Better yet, can he start staying healthy consistently. Never played even close to a full 82 games. The thing about Ladd, and even considering this year, is you know what you're going to get. 20-25 goals, 50-60 pts and he probably won't miss a game. Back to the decision between the two; if market for Ladd is as great as many believe it to be, reasonable choice is to trade Ladd & sign Perreault. I would think we could get him back for even a modest raise on that $3M/yr. 4 yrs $14M get it done? Maybe $15M?

I know this has been discussed at length already, but how much does the Moose lousyness affect individual, particularly young players? From reports I'd read in the past, Armia was really struggling down there at times. Then up here, put him on a line with some skill and BOOM - clear evidence of 1st rd skill, no doubt.

They're all up in 2016/17, completely irrelevant to the Leafs concerns. Phaneuf is signed thru 20/21. Very little NHL impact??!? LOL. Completely changed the face of 2 franchises. And opens the door for the league's biggest spender to bring in some big FAs.

This should also kill the notion that any player is un-tradeable. In less than 12 months, the Leafs have moved Clarkson and Phaneuf, and didn't get butchered in either deal. Also why, if we HAD to, I'd have given Buff 6 or 7 years. Anyone's always moveable.

Good points. But as you say, it would have to be Hamonic + ___________ for Trouba. JT's upside is way higher. Would the Isles be willing to include a 1st too? Would be a late pick, but potential there for Chevy to use it to get into the top3 picks if we aren't there already.
