    Thanks MOD-5
  3. Someone started counting the "hanging chads".

Mock the kid if you will, but he showed some serious giddyup on the 1:1s that I watched him in. He's very green, but I'm hopeful for the potential.

Did anyone else hear Coach Wylie yelling from the end zone at a player that was scrimmaging on the 30? It sounded like he was shouting "don't hurt yourself". I'm guessing the player was dogging it. Hahaha.

I agree with Jimmy P about #7 & #12. These guys are thoroughbreds. Some think it may be Jace Davis' position to lose at WR, but like others, I saw lots of promise from #0-Veltung, he also had some nice YAC today... but still early. #33 ...say no more. I paid more attention to Richards and Waggoner just because of their draft status. Richards was fairly unremarkable, but didn't do anything to distinguish himself negatively. He also didn't look impeded by any lingering injury...If he had off season hip surgery, it didn't show in his gait. Waggoner has a gliding running style that gets him down the field much quicker that you might suspect. He also looked crisp on the blocking sled where others didn't. He strikes me as an "attention to details guy" as he again, looked very sharp in drills compared to others. They must find a way to get #34-Anderson on the field. Other than rushing and receiving, he participated in some ST drills...what a motor. #77-Vitt keeps making plays (dropped only one pass that I saw). #16-Loffler's break-up of a previously mentioned pass looked to be a thing of beauty. That was not a non-import rookie play to me. #43-Corney will eat somebody's lunch this season. I see a strong resemblance between he and a young (read -fit) Tom Canada and another forgotten legend; the great Pete Catan.
  7. I'm barely able to do sets of 10 channel-changes with my new Universal remote.
  8. I seem to recall that the "lightning logo" was the winning entry of a fan competition. Personally, I think we should have gone full changeover and renamed the team the Winnipeg Blue McBoatfaces
  9. Can't forget buiders; Cal Murphy, Paul Robson...Nasty Nate
  10. Heikki Riihiranta; my all time indecipherable Finn.
  11. He's no Chijioke Onyenegecha, but the name should still give Suitor fits....so I like him.
  12. To me, it's about his audacity. This specific situation may or may not be acceptable in the legal sense, but...what acting mayor with any sense of propriety or concern about the image he should be upholding, would get involved in something that appears so unethical? I just hate the way he shrugs his shoulders and I says I did nothing illegal, while everything around the whole situation smells like sewage.
  13. If you're looking for a gift for yourself or any beer drinking Manitoban, consider: 300 Years of Beer: An Illustrated History of Brewing in Manitoba It's a really lovely coffee table book full of vintage photos & info. pertaining to Manitoba's rich brewing history. One of the authors is a pal of mine and he really took on the development as a labour of love (we were both 2nd generation Mb.brewery workers). His only regret is the lack of due diligence by the publishers around proofing the text. If you can get past some of the glaring typos, it is a very nice read. I've shipped copies to a number of former 'Tobans as gifts. They unanimously (particularly the old timers) enjoy it. http://www.amazon.ca/300-Years-Beer-Illustrated-Manitoba/dp/192653171X
  14. Weren't they in the running for Dressler?
  15. Show Andrew Harris the money + loudly declare that going forward, this is how the WBB will treat their home grown talent. ...hope that Nic Demski and Anthony Coombs are watching.
  16. John KeimESPN Staff Writer The Redskins signed three players to reserve/future contracts Monday: defensive lineman Jerrell Powe, linebacker Desmond Bishop and defensive lineman Christo Bilukidi. Powe was in training camp with the Redskins.
  17. Sure, you would think that DW would be asked about his thoughts on compatibility with Cortez. I would also guess that R. Hall might have something to add. These are but a few of the elements which could make up part of a pre-screen on his hiring. The reality is, Cortez longevity in a small league will leave very little to the imagination...except how he was/is able to adapt over time.
  18. There aren't many outcomes that will surprise me because there are so many variables at play. The one thing that should absolutely not happen, is for the Bombers to be outcoached. They will be facing a first time head coach in his first game on the most pressure packed stage of all. For that matter, it will be their DC calling his first solo game as well. Now's the time for the WBB coaches to make it happen against a very inexperienced opposing staff.
  19. Even if a position was offered, why would he want to jump back into that meat grinder so quickly if he is still receiving a cheque from Sask.?
  20. Cabbie is horrible.
  21. I have to admit that I haven't spent much time focusing on Waggoner until last game when he went down to injury after a ST play. 1) Is he back at practice? 2) Does anyone have any opinions one way or the other on his progress?
  22. Toth is no loss; he was personable enough, but rarely brought anything worthwhile to the table. At least with the addition of Currier you have a fairly astute broadcaster. You won't have the clear division between the serious news guy and the fluff guy, as you'll no longer have to endure KKs obvious lake of depth on anything meaningful. I can actually envision the potential for mildly compelling dialogue between GC and RC (particularly at election time)...something KK could never do. If she's still on the stick tomorrow, listen to the interplay between she and Dahlia (sp) when Kennedy introduces her show. It is the most inept example of a discussion between two wands of cotton candy attempting to be entertaining.
  23. It's a great day for a win.
