the watcher reacted to johnzo in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadI do not understand the problem that the revised playoff format is attempting to solve.
Every year when the playoffs come I'm glad to be rid of the bottom third of the CFL but now two of those three teams will be hanging around.
A divisional winner might not even get a bye in the playoffs, if they lose the "showdown" game, and they'll lose their home field advantage in the semifinal round if they lose the showdown game. In the past, winning a division vastly increased a team's odds of going to the final, but now? Seems like the regular season is kind of an afterthought here.
I'm not sure why the East always gets the eighth seed in their play-in game while the West gets the seventh seed.

I don't see how out of all of our players this guy couldn't qualify for the marketing money. I'd hope a good chunk is covered for marketing.
3 years for a guy in his prime that has "pardon the pun" carried the team over the last two seasons. Great signing.

AND thank gawd we are not the Riders. What a constant relief that is.

the watcher reacted to SpeedFlex27 in Permission to talk: Is O'Shea leaving? In pro football, the NFL the coaching eras of Tom Landry, George Halas, Vince Lombardi & Bill Belichek all came to an end. In the CFL. Bud Grant, Frank Clair, Wally Buono & Don Matthews all ended. In hockey, Punch Imlach, Emil Francis, Scotty Bowman & Al Arbour all came to an end. In baseball so did Managers Sparky Anderson, Tommy Lasorda & Billy Martin. They all ended. Some on their own terms, others not so fortunate. Eventually the message dulls over time & players tune out. In Winnipeg, Mike O'Shea's time is ending & he should sense it before he's shown the door. Now's the time to bow out on his terms.
