Glad I got my tickets... expecting the rush of sales now!

Some items, I would imagine, will be the same. Chop is also run by that company and it has differences and similarities with the Moxie's menu so I'd assume this one will be the same.

Interesting little tidbit came out about the ESPN PPV deal today. The price is entirely of the PPV is entirely controlled by ESPN now as is the disclosure of the buyrate so it will be interesting to see if the price moves up or down at all. The UFC won't care either way since they've already been paid.

Good Twitter day for non-wrestling companies!

Beto has said it would be his preference to have a woman as running mate so that pairing could work... not sure Harris is interested in playing 2nd fiddle at the moment though.
  9. Long story short - his dad is a Jefferson but wasn't around so he started going by his mother's name.

They already offer PPV on fight pass in some countries. It's not like the WWE Network though as those events are not included in the price so you still pay the $60. They could have done the same in North America but since ESPN is willing to give them a big fat cheque, they would have been dumb to say no. The UFC has a 3rd party vendor running fight pass for them so there might have been so contract issues in play there as well. It is an increase in price and it isn't. They only started charging $65 in 2018 as it had been at $60 for years prior to that. That price is also only for those who bought the PPV in HD, as people who would only buy in SD are going from $55 to $65. This doesn't just affect fans though. Fighters, who get part of the PPV revenue, could also see their income affected by this if there is a significant drop in buys.

They might be active at it but they aren't very good at it. You can find live HD streams for every event on reddit very easily and those never seem to get shut down. There's no learning curve to that other than to no there might be a pop-up or two when you click on the link (that's usually even spelled out so people know ahead of time).

They've been talking about moving away from PPV for years so it's not really a surprise. A lot of people expected them to move it to their fight pass service but if ESPN is willing to pay them to do basically the same thing, it's a no-brainer for them. It sucks for fans in the US, because now it's an extra monthly cost for them.
  13. Yes. This is where the eastern teams could have an advantage as there are way more players/schools to choose from.
  14. From the original quote, it sounds like college location: "which would give Montreal access to a great college player from within their market"

Guess it's not a long shot after all!
  16. They knew who he was but absolutely nothing about him other than his looks and he seemed to be the complete opposite of Trump.
  17. We didn't meet a single trump supporter while we were down there (not surprising since we were on the "fun side of the wall"). None of the Americans we met had any idea how clueless Trudeau is though. They thought it was all sunny days I guess.
  18. And hasn't been for a while... well before this obstruction stuff came up. I was just in Mexico for a couple weeks and it was interesting trying to explain to Americans why we both have useless leaders that need to go.
  19. One trick the PC's like to use to reduce the workforce is re-classification. They'll change your designation (but not necessarily your job) so they can reduce your pay. People aren't thrilled with the idea of doing the same job for less pay so they leave. At least in one case where the PC's did this in the past (at lotteries), some people were offered buy-outs if they weren't willing to accept the re-classification. They are currently doing this in my wife's office but in lieu of a buy-out, they are offering salary protection for 2 years if you end up getting moved to a lower classification. It will have the same effect though, just not as quickly. People will leave but now they have some time to look for other work.
  20. My wife department could use the excess staff as well - although she does admit there are a couple "problem employees" that current and past management have just kind of stuck in a corner, letting them dwiddle their thumbs rather than deal with them correctly. People like my wife end up picking up the slack for those guys and it just creates animosity in the office.

  22. That pizza promotion had zero to do with the league. The CFL forced them to shut it down as they weren't given permission for it.

When pcw started up (as well as a few other promotions), there was a lot of poaching of workers going on. It sucked as a fan because the best guys were split between different promotions so you never truly saw the best of what the local scene could offer as the different promotions would want exclusivity. Its been really good lately between cwe and pcw but if WPW comes in and starts rocking the boat (especially since they dont really have a roster of their own), I could see how it might become an issue.

To be fair, I remember people like Ernie saying the same thing almost 20 years ago when some other promotions started popping up. Not saying it's the same situation though as i was way more in touch with the local scene back then so I have no idea what the story is behind the scenes these days.
  25. Fogg should be in the dual threat category, imo.
