  1. My honest opinion is that Jeff Mathews was the best quarterback the Als fielded all season. It's too bad he got hurt.

We're gonna have to beat both teams anyways so the question is WHEN do you want to face them. If Calgary wins this weekend, they're finishing the year on a high note and then they get the bye and we face them in the West final. We would have to beat Sask in the semi final when they are coming off a bye as well. Alternatively Calgary loses this weekend and we face them next week on a four game losing streak. And Sask would be coming off a weird two-week bye in the West final. I think I would prefer Calgary in the semi-final.
  3. After the losing streak I said we were gonna get hot and make the playoffs and win the Grey Cup. So far so good. Being the smartest, most handsome guy in the room never gets old. Don't forget to like and subscribe.

It seems to me they did best when they had all the old guys like Sting and Kurt Angle and whoever else. That was the appeal... seeing the legends still working. Now they're more directly competing with ROH and NJPW with their product (lots of younger talent, indie style wrestling) and they are kinda starting from square one. A typical wrestling fan would probably watch WWE/NXT, NJPW and ROH before Impact so they have a tough climb to get back the share they once had.
  5. I'd really like to see Andrew Harris have a big night. He has never played well against Calgary and that would go a long way.
  6. There were people smoking the pot in the regular smoking area before so I don't see that changing
  7. Hoping the Bombers win this one
  8. I believe Selkirk has a nice little arena although probably only 3000 seats or so.
  9. Start? Downtown has been improving since they built the MTS Centre. Where have you been?? It's still not perfect but opening Portage and Main would be inconsequential and barely worth mentioning compared to other improvements over the last decade and a half. Two thirds of the city is voting to keep it closed. Keep it closed.
  10. 54 is just an average. Some were seeing delays of several minutes and one direction was proposed to be shut down completely, so people would need to find a completely different route.
  11. Team Open will have you believe that tearing down the barriers will suddenly have the downtown full of people living and working. As if the barriers at Portage and Main have a single thing to do with that. They'll also call you a bigot if you're against it... I think that's been my favourite one so far.
  12. Right on the Team Open site, they contradict themselves. There is a graphic stating "The average number of seconds added to an afternoon rush hour commute is 54 after pedestrians are reintroduced." Right next to the graphic, they state that the delay can be 0-54 seconds. So it 54 the average or the upper bound? Such disorganization. Team Open has no idea what they are talking about. That is why I voted Closed.
  13. Yes, I meant, why do they lie. Not you. I am not around a computer anymore but I will return at my leisure to post my findings.
  14. See, this is the issue. I have the study open in front of me right now (it is publicly available online) and your claim is 100% false. It's right in the chart. Why lie?
  15. The main issue for me is the Yes side making up unfounded claims. Traffic won't be worse, costs won't be that bad, etc. It's all assumptions passed off as fact. Lies to get their way. Another factor for me is that people will die as a result of opening it. It's a huge intersection and people die at smaller ones, there is no reason to believe no one will die here. I saw the aftermath of someone getting exploded by a transit bus on Graham and I'd prefer not to see that again. And when someone dies, where will Team Open be? Nowhere to be found.
  16. I will be voting to keep it closed simply because the "vote open" people have been so insufferable. I don't care either way, though, and frankly I think it's a joke that this is one of the central issues of the election.
  17. There's not really anyone in the Jets forward corps you want in the pressbox for a stretch of more than a few games. It's no better for Lemieux to sit there than Vesalainen. Who else can you really sit... Andrew Copp, Brandon Tanev, Jack Roslovic??? Not likely.

Nowhere. But you can say you disagree and then quote me and brag about it if I'm wrong. And isn't that really what sports are all about?

Lemieux's AHL days are over. We won't see him in a Moose uniform again. The choice was between keeping Petan and Dano and they chose Petan. I would have made the same decision.
  20. Streveler doesn't have the arm to be a starting QB in the CFL. I know most people will disagree with me but it is obvious when I watch him throw. He will likely never be a full-time starter and the suggestion that he may be better than Nichols is ludicrous to me. I like Streveler and he is absolutely perfect for the role we have him in now but he would be exposed in a big way if he was our full time starter.
  21. Agreed that's why I specified OLBs and DEs.
  22. Frederic Plesius has been pretty good on special teams too. Nice to be able to pick up good veteran Canadians mid season for nothing.
  23. Best path available would be stealing second place from the Riders and getting a home playoff game. If not that, I don't see much difference between the paths on the west or the east. The Riders and Stamps have had great seasons but they are both dealing with lots of injuries and not playing their best football right now. Hamilton and Ottawa have had less impressive seasons but are both relatively healthy and are capable of having huge games. Hamilton in particular scares me.
  24. The Riders have an atrocious offence, a good secondary, great outside linebackers, and the best defensive ends in the league. I don't think any of that is arguable. It is interesting that they have won 10 games, second most in the league, with that being their scenario. Good coaching.
