I'm actually not sure if Laine is not "BPA" (Best Player Available) but Toronto needs a center of Matthews calibre to anchor it for the next 10 years, so I'm pretty sure they go need over who may or may not be better at this point. I was just hoping they don't go off the reservation (credit Hillary Clinton) and take the guy we need. If Matthews fell to us it wouldn't be bad either of course

IMO the Jets got "gifted" the best player available in this draft if they get to pick Patrick Liane at number 2. Cheveldayoff has got to feel like the luckiest GM since Glen Sather to somehow secure this stud. This kid is going to bring a dimension to the Jets 2.0 they haven't had (natural goal scorer like Bossy, Ovey, etc.).

To be honest, anything (even it's a big blue bib on the road jersey) is better than the gold jersey they've been sporting since 2012. I really could care less if the road jersey has differences from the classic, I just want the home royal blue and the road white ...

Rumour over at the Rider site is that the Riders jersey will have the all green "mono chromatic" look that the NFL was sporting for a few games last year. I guess that's where the royal blue pants for the Bombers discussion was coming from as well. I don't like that look and I don't think the majority of fans will either. I would think if that is the way Adidas goes, it won't be too long before they go to the gold pants eventually ...

If it means trading Myers, I'd stick with what we have. The 2nd pick may turn out to be a generational type player (like Teemu) that transforms our team into a contender, number 4 may be another Josh Morrisey type (who's good but not quite cut of the same cloth).

Similar to Safeway/ Sobeys, maybe the MTS brand will still be in use ...

I think it's too early to give up on either player but you never know.

They'd be looking more for a Petan or Lowry and I don't think Chevy would be willing to do that.

BTW ... good thing Ladd moved on, he would have been the third line LW this year!
