CFL Awards (Still Schenelys To Me)
I've really been trying to soak up every second of this season. Not lost on me how special it is. Every win saved on my PVR. Really enjoyed the awards tonight, tho the whole production felt so amateur. How is it not on TSN?? How is there not more glitz and glamour?? At any rate, congratulations to all the Bombers who won, but the real award worth winning is Sunday evening.

CFL Awards (Still Schenelys To Me)
there's absolutely no way Bighill doesn't win tonight. The national media knows (there's plenty of talking head buzz on the Twitters) how good this Bombers D is (record setting, "generationally" good) and he'll win as the representative of that defense. Marshall Ferguson, dyed-in-the-wool Can'ts fan, said "Bighill is the best linebacker in the league, full stop" earlier this week. That, to me, speaks to how the national media view Bighill and the Bombers D. Biggie unanimously tonight.

Nope. Again, that's a popular narrative but it's not true. Our passing game with Matt Nichols until he got injured was excellent. We were very very well balanced all last year. When Nichols got hurt, then things changed because Strev just isn't a real passing threat.

If this was a thing, Osh would have won at least once in the past 5 years or so. It's not a thing.....Osh is gonna win unanimously. If Winwiddie had made it to the big game, then maybe he gets a vote or two, but this won't be close.

I had no idea the "Winnipeg is just Andrew Harris and the run game" was a narrative until this week. Hilarious.

update on the WX for this weekend. Sun and cloud mix most of tomorrow (tho heavy rain in the morning) with a high around +15 (!!), then Sun and Cloud on Sunday with a high around +5. Not too freakin' shabby for December. Perfect football weather...

the noise on Sunday will be about half the decibels of Sask on LDC. Not concerned about their ability to handle that. The headset bullshit is something else. alright....hopefully they get that sorted.

2021 (??) CFL Season
This is..........interesting........ The CFL is trying to work out of the financial hole mostly caused by the pandemic, commissioner Randy Ambrosie and the owners hope revenue sharing can help lead to prosperity around the league in the future. “We used the crisis to really reexamine: how do we approach the business of the game? Because the game is great but the business has to punch at its weight in order to have a really good league,” Ambrosie said. There are many financial questions facing the CFL and fans around the country are curious if the three-down league can progress onward and upward amid the crisis the virus has created. “We found a way to restructure our business in a way that’s going to give us a much stronger foundation, a much, much stronger financial foundation,” Ambrosie said. Behind the scenes, the board of governors agreed to a revenue sharing model between the franchises for the first time in almost 40 years. “At the heart of the philosophy is that we want all teams to be able to break even, if they do some, most, if not all of the right things. And we’re going to hold each other accountable to that standard,” Ambrosie said. The CFL lost between $60 and $80 million due to the cancelled 2020 season. Despite further financial losses for the league this year, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers except to post a “meaningful” profit. “I’m not trying to suggest in any way, shape or form that we don’t have work to do, we do, we have lots of work to do in the days to come,” Ambrosie said. “We’ll have to work tirelessly, [the Grey Cup] game will end at roughly 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night — we’ll take 12 hours off. And yes, we have challenges to face.”

I was actually surprised that this Twitter jagoff isn't from Alberta, with an off chance of Sask.........I just tend to assume, at this point.

The desire to be a contrarian at all times, because somehow that makes you cooler or a better fan, to be different from the majority here? I just don't get that.

Anyone Going To The Grey Cup?
Ya for us it was too far from AB. We decided our "Grey Cup" trip would be the West Final. Next year when we're back, in The Gap, wife and I will make a full weekend of it.... Get good and drunk enough that I forget I'm in the land of knuckle dragging cousin f***ers....

To think that the Bombers are only a run game. Get ******. Collaros is the best, most accurate passer I've seen in a Bombers uniform in my adult life....

Jake The Snake Ireland was a guy I always thought was out to get us. I'm generally a fan of Tom Valessi, Frenchie Proulx, Al Bradbury and the rest.... One of them (Bradbury?) is a Winnipegger, and usually helps the team out by attending some practices and film sessions to explain how the refs will call certain things...

there's an element of "Bombers in '19 and Ottawa over Calgary in ______, so how did that happen? What am I missing? We all called the favourite, but the 'dog won....let's figure out how that happened and try to be better at predicting the outcome".......which ties in to what Dave is saying. They're looking for more layers, rather than just seeing the obvious.

I really feel like people want them to win because "they're due" or "it's their turn" or whatever....that bullshit. I think deep down, everyone knows we're going to spank the Cants something fierce. - Early chat- Ticats vs Champs Grey Cup Thread
